Because it is in West Virginia, not New York or D.C. The national media can only fixate on one story at a time and if any of those stories involve New York or D.C. you can forget anything else.

First it was Scott Peterson, then Kobe Bryant, not to mention the war in Iraq. From the lack of news on any of those fronts over the last few days one can only draw the conclusion that the two trials are over and the troops are home from Iraq.

I was in MD the day the first people were shot. When it was determined that a sniper was responsible, the media trotted out all their "experts". I also remember this lady being interviewed say something to the effect of, This is what happens when our citizens are allowed to have guns. It was then I knew we were doomed as nation..

Don't the media rules (journalistic ethics) require that any every suggestion of a white killer be followed by a guess as to his membership in a "religious, right wing, militia group," and possible ownership of an "arsenal of automatic, rapid fire, multiple shot assault weapons?" These cops are never going to get the really huge book offers unless they get the media attention required. Play to the media beliefs (and orders) and they'll get that attention.

Is there a media number that the new shooter can call to get pointers on some of the dos and don'ts? I mean, now he knows his truck's been made and he won't use it again. But, are there little things that only the cops know that the madia will pass on to the killer so as to make this a story worth moving all the trucks down to Kanahwa?

I was watching the Running Man the other day with Ahnold in it. Police SPECULATED?? What's with this speculated stuff? After the fiasco with Moose's "Angry White Man in a White Box Van" line which caused more innocent people to die while Americns were looking the other way, even if the perp IS an Angry White Man in a Black Truck, how many people are going to believe this description?
