ArnoldGovernor.net is calling for the resignation of California Democratic party spokesperson, Bob Mulholland. We are organizing conservatives to contact the California media to not let Bob off the hook this time.
California Democratic Party spokesperson and staunch Davis supporter, Bob Mulholland, made the following comment recently,"Schwarzenegger is going to find out, that unlike a Hollywood movie set, the bullets coming at him in this campaign are going to be real bullets and he is going to have to respond to them."(source) This vile threat is completely unacceptable and represents the height of irresponsibility in a politically charged election as this one. Mulholland made a cop-out, non-apology later - saying only that he apologized for using "Hollywood words" (source). This is insufficient. ArnoldGovernor.net is calling for Mulholland's resignation and is requesting that all fair minded citizens write to the California media to seek his resignation.
To take action, click to our activism page. We have all the major print media contacts in California there so you can fire off a dozen e-mails in a jiffy.

At bare minimum, we want to put Gray Davis and his thugs on the defensive. You don't have to be an Arnold supporter to know what Mulholland said was wrong.

A few years ago I tried to protest a Lloyd Benson rally in California when Mike Hawkins, the RAT party boss of the county, ripped the protest sign out of my hand and tore it up. Those punks are all the same.

That's exactly it, the Democrats fight as dirty as they can get away with, which is a lot, yet a lot of people underestimate the enemy.

How would you like to start an "Arnold for Governor" live thread?
Seems like the McClintock fans have one -- with specific request that non-McC fans don't post there.

Please post news and published views of Tom McClintock appearing in your area or nationally. Please, no "RINO ARNIE/UNELECTABLE TOM" rants - plenty of other threads for that.
===
I don't think we should disturb their thread, but by the same token, it would be nice if someone would start one for Arnold, where we can request no-Arnold bashing and post and discuss events about him.
If you do start one, put me on your ping list, please.
To: FairOpinion
That sounds like a good idea. I'll create a live thread called "Live Thread: Arnold Supporters". I need a hand though with this Pinging thing. I gather that I keep a text list of everyone who wants to be on the Ping list and separate them with semi-colons. Then, I post all those names into the "To" box. Is that it? Sounds easy enough. Based on my FreepMails, sounds like there's plenty of interest.
To: jagrmeister
I am glad you are willing to do it. I think it will be great, there is a lot to discuss, and it will be nice to discuss it, without the constant repetitious disruptions.
As for the ping list, you've got it. That's about it. And if you forget someone, just do a reply to post and paste those people's names.
And I think we should declare the same thing that this is for peaceful discussion about Arnold only. We respect their McClintock thread and they can respect our Arnold thread.
You may want to look at that thread. They list it only in the CA topics category only. But I think we can list it in the CA & politics/elections category, and use Schwarzenegger as a key word.
It seems people create a new one every day. We don't necessarily need to create a new one every day -- will kind of depend on the number of posts, but as new news and things happen, it's better if people don't have to wade through all the old post to get to the latest and create a new thread, maybe put the date in the title.
To: FairOpinion
Thanks for the tips. I created the thread here:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/965124/posts . Unfortunately, I didn't list it in the California category. I hear what you're saying about number of posts. I'll appreciate your guidance as we build out the Arnold thread.

Mulholland's an idiot and a jerk but it was obviously a (politically incorrect) figure of speech. I wouldn't waste a minute of time on PC crap. It minimizes the real issues.
To: Leroy S. Mort
I would waste several minutes. It's important to help shape the media agenda. To the extent Democrats are playing defense, we're in good shape. Having said that, I believe what Mulholland said was wrong and his apology was hollow. Reaching the media on this is both pragmatic and principled.
To: Leroy S. Mort
Look, if he wished Arnold could have Mulholland tossed into jail for the duration! There are any number of laws the guy broke with his statement. At a minimum he's going to be on the Secret Service's "special list" for the rest of his life.
In the meantime Arnold and Company can play it for all it's worth. Some folks even on the far left simply do not appreciate death threats, implied or real, against the Kennedy's and their inlaws.
I think there's more to be gained by continuing to complain about Mulholland's threat to kill Arnold than there is by pursuing the guy in court although that probably ought to be done the day after the election anyway.

There are any number of laws the guy broke with his statement. Which laws would those be?
To: Leroy S. Mort
Look, given enough time all sorts of laws can be found to cover anything a lawyer wishes. On the other hand, when a guy says there will be some live gunfire taking place, that's not a "prediction" or just campaign rhetoric.
That is called a "death threat", and "death threats" can be punished.
Now, if you want to take the Moslem legal position, Arnold would have to prove that Mulholland had a gun, or had made arrangements with someone who had a gun. The very same Moslem legal position would demand that Mulholland or his gumbah have actually placed a finger on the trigger, and aimed the gun toward Arnold.
Western law is not so picky. It is enough that you make a threat. It is a reasonable presumption that in America a gun can be found with which to make good the threat.
So don't try any of that Sharia Law business on me anymore. This is not Iran.

So if I said we ought to beat Mulholland over the head with a large piece of Political Correctness I could be brought up on charges? (laughing...)
Don't be so naive...there was no "Death Threat" for gosh sakes and any serious effort to spin it as such will just look ludicrous.
Idiots like Mulholland do our movement much more good in their current positions.
To: graycamel
Some of the Clintons' brownshirts were doing the same thing in Houston in 1992. I did hear Bob Mulholland on Hugh Hewitt's show recently. He could not spin his way out of this one.
To: jagrmeister
Good idea. Trent Lott felt the wrath of the PC speech crowd. Mulholland should have those words shoved back down his throat. Given such a large forum to spew such garbage, that would not be acceptable on this website, is outrageous He should be held accountable. Freepers would not even utter the same about Gray Davis. Thanks for the post.

On the other hand, if you said "beat Mulholland" over the head with real bullets (presumably used in the correct and normal manner, that is, fired from a firearm), it would be fair to suggest you were requesting someone to kill him.
That, too, is usually a crime in most places.
However, this is Mulholland so I don't know if it's a crime at all. Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. Frankly, I don't care one way or the other.
BTW, "others" you might hope to convert to our "movement" who would be deterred from doing so by reason of our objection to death threats aren't really the sort of folks we need in our "movement". Frankly, let's leave the hard core leftists right where they are!
