Predessor does not mean father. It means the one who comes before.

Christ was Crucified in the location under the Church of the Holy Sepulchure. The walls of Jerusalem were extended to include this location later. How does one make such a claim with certitude? How about "I am inclined to think that ..."? Frankly, no one knows with certainty the geographical location of the crucifixion (except of course Christ Himself).

Jesus was crucified at Golgotha, outside the official boundaries of Jerusalem. According to tradition, his body was then taken down and carried to the tomb purchased by Joseph of Arimathea, and that is the site of the Resurrection. The Church of the Holy Sepulcher is, therefore, on the supposed site of the burial but not the crucifixion.
Judging from comments in guidebooks, the precise site of Golgotha is now disputed among three tourist attractions, and the spot where the Church of the Holy Sepulcher stands was picked out by St. Helen, mother of the Emperor Constantine, in the 4th century, but there is a competing claim from a church (and tourist spot) called the Garden Tomb.

The Church of the Holy Sepulcher is, therefore, on the supposed site of the burial but not the crucifixion. Catholics, Orthodox, Armenians, Copts, all believe the Church of the Resurrection/Holy Sepulchre contains both sites. Pope John Paul II in a sermon said:
The mystery is clearly reflected in this ancient Church of the Anástasis, which contains both the empty tomb the sign of the Resurrection, and Golgotha the place of the Crucifixion.

In fact, the place of the Crucifixion in the Church of the Resurrection/Holy Sepulchre is a Greek Orthodox Chapel.

There is a path that leads to the ark, and blessed are those that find it.

Didn't Paul visit Jerusalem a few times? As effusive as he was, how come Paul didn't seem to know where the Crucifixon and Resurrection had taken place, as all these modern types claim to?
