Christian Coalition Backs Bob Riley

The Christian Coalition of America is supporting Governor Riley's tax and accountability plan, even though the Christian Coalition of Alabama is opposing it.
The president of the Christian Coalition of America says Riley's plan is a bold initiative reflecting the Christian goal of helping those in need. This is the first time the national organization and any state organization have split on an issue. The Christian Coalition of Alabama voted in May to oppose Riley's plan. The state president -- John Giles -- was caught off guard Wednesday by the national president's visit to Alabama to endorse Riley's plan.

Such a rich story. "True conservatives" are apoplectic over the notion that Schwarzenegger wants to review the tax structure of California, yet let a social conservative call for a massive tax hike in the name of Jesus, and they're all happy. This all happening while his ideological compadre Roy Moore blows $125,000,000.00 in state paid "legal and expert consulting" fees over his ten commandments idol in the courthouse rotunda, a fight started to benefit a bunch of televangelists affiliated with Paul and Jan Crouch.
You can't make this stuff up.

Riley must be a RINO if he's going to raise taxes, correct?
So the CC is more RINO that principled, true?
How can true conservatives support tax raisers?

You're a baaaaaad person, catching him out of both sides of the mouth like that.
So secular social programs that cause tax increases are bad, and the religious ones that cause tax increases are good, right?

Hey, it could also be mentioned that Pryor (the social conservative's hero) has campaigned actively and enthusiastically for Riley's bone-crushing 20 percent tax increase. I got flamed by freeper Pryorbots for pointing out this pesky fact (which they never tried to refute). BTW, this AEA-backed tax increase is headed for overwhelming defeat.

This is all pretty simple:
1. The Christian Coalition of Alabama is right.
2. The Christian Coalition of America is wrong.
3. No matter what the Christian Right does, Chancellor Palpatine will hate them for it.

Pryor isn't their hero anymore. His announcement that he disagrees with the courts but will act to bring Alabama into compliance with the injunction yesterday brought out the catcalls.

The former Pryorbots are really quite fickle.

The former Pryorbots are really quite fickle. They hate the idea that someone they support has a practical side, and isn't willing to immolate himself in the service of their ideology.

Its even worse than that - there is not only a link between Coral Ridge and the Crouches, but Kennedy is also tight with Benny Hinn.

The "true conservatives". If they were so "conservative", they wouldn't have to add "true" in front of their self-descriptive nametag.

How can true conservatives support tax raisers?
because on moral issues, and religious issues, they are socialists. wanting to use government to sponsor their religious bent.

One and the same. His name popped up in Hanegraaf's public coal raking of D. James Kennedy.

This may be part of Riley's triangulation: He woos the National Christian Coalition to support his tax plan when the Alabama Christian Coalition votes to oppose his tax increase. Today Riley issues a statement supporting Chief Judge Moore, which will be quite popular with the Alabama Christian Coalition.
It's downright Clintonesque.

Oh, this is interesting. Currently on the Coral Ridge site is the happy notion that people can get hurt over Roy's stone idol.
Judge Keeps Physical Confrontation As An Option
Judge Thompson also stated that an opportunity for any physical confrontation between federal and state officials or between federal officials and anyone else was unlikely at this time.
Wendy Wright, senior policy director with Concerned Women for America, responds, If that were to happen, there are many people who are willing to literally place themselves in front of the doorways to keep the monument from being removed. So, its likely were going to see a standoff in Alabama over whether the Ten Commandments can be publicly displayed.
Robert Schenck, of the National Clergy Council, added: The removal of the Ten Commandments in this instance, is an indication that the court is saying with finality, we are no longer a nation under God, and thats what is at stake here.
