[history]
Actor and Democratic activist Rob Lowe isn't exactly moving from "The West Wing" to the right wing, but he's going to play a real-life role in Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger's gubernatorial campaign, people close to the situation said Thursday.
The 39-year-old actor has been asked by Schwarzenegger and his wife, Democrat Maria Shriver, who are longtime social friends, to take a senior position in the campaign, the sources said. Although Lowe is expected to have a co-chair title, his exact role is still being defined.

With the appointment, Lowe would join a growing list of Democrats holding prominent positions in the Schwarzenegger operation. Not a good indicator...

Wow. Every hour, Schwartz is making himself more odious. And he'll probably win. Those who pushed for the recall should have known they were opening Pandora's Box.

"He also videotaped a sexual romp with two young women in a hotel room"
The videotape was a yawn. :o AND....it was not 2 girls...it was Rob, a girl and his guy friend on the tape.
Gee....I wonder if his political interest is linked to publicity for his new fall tv show .....hmmmmm....

...will Ahhnold ask Martin Sheen to be his next advisor?
Geeezzz

Someone should bump this up to breaking news so that we could finally disabuse people of the notion that he is a true republican.

Including the candidate himself, it seems. What a disaster. And Ahnuld will probably win. So CA will have a Democrat governor, surrounded by Democrat advisors. But, Ahnuld will _call_ himself a Republican, so it will be fine.

I don't think this is as bad as the comments thus far make out. Lowe has given a number of interviews making it clear that, although he is a Democrat (remember "Snow White"?),
- he supported, and supports, the Iraq war effort -- and on FOX NEWS, no less. (http://www.boycott-hollywood.net/archives/000126.html)
I seem to remember reading him indicating that he once was challenged for reading Larry Elder's first book in a public place in Malibu, and he said that was indicative of the closed-mindedness of many in that community.
In any event, Lowe is hardly a Clausewitz.

Any conservative who votes for Ahhhnold is a fool, IMO. Hope his triangulation campaign gets tied up in knots and conservatives unite behind one candidate.

This reminds me of Kaiopectate my mother used to make me take. Frankly, I preferred diarrhia to the cure. I think a lot of Californians are going to hold their nose, and vote for Arnold.
Here, I think you'll need a double dose...

I don't know why this would surprise anyone. Rnold and Lowe-As-You-Can-Get are both flaming liberals. Only the Rob Reiner's and Martin Sheen's of this world would consider Schwarzenegger a conservative.
