[history]
With less than two months to go, the number of voters ready to replace Gov. Gray Davis continues to grow as he faces pronounced defections among those critical to his success -- Democrats, moderates and Latinos.
The latest Field Poll, released today, found that 58 percent of likely voters now support the Oct. 7 recall, compared with 37 percent who oppose it. The spread is much wider and much worse for Davis than it was just a month ago when 51 percent supported the recall and 43 percent opposed it.

``I think that it's really unfair,'' said Ellie Wakefield-Mills, 53, a registered nurse who lives in San Jose and is against the recall. ``The Republicans have initiated this whole thing and changed the rules. Gray Davis won fair and square in the last election.''
won fair and square = BullPucky, he lied and the media let him get away with it ... we pay thru the nose, and now he pays.. now, that's fair.

"The Republicans have initiated this whole thing and changed the rules. Gray Davis won fair and square in the last election." Bwaha. Is someone auditioning for a comedy act? What rules were changed? Anyone can be recalled.
Davis only hope left is to utterly savage the opposition. He will try to make Schwarzeneggar look like a goose-stepping Nazi. Count on it.

But John Yaccarine of San Jose, a registered Republican who keeps forgetting to change his voter registration and who voted for Davis last time, said it's time for a change.

Busamante would be even worse than Davis. And Arianne H. is the most irritating candidate -- a real pea-brain.
