Report: Rob Lowe May Join Arnold[Schwarzenegger]'s Campaign Team
Fox News Online ^ | 8/15/03

Posted on 08/15/2003 6:13:50 AM PDT by TheBigB

Former "West Wing" star Rob Lowe may get into politics for real -- as an advisor to Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the dashing actor who played the White House deputy communications director Sam Seaborn on the NBC political drama, may join the campaign team.

Lowe is a longtime Democratic activist and friend of Schwarzenegger's and of his wife Maria Shriver.

Schwarzenegger is running for Calif. Governor on the Republican ticket. There are 135 other candidates, including has-been actor Gary Coleman, running in the Oct. 7 governor recall election.

Citing unnamed campaign sources, the Times says Schwarzenegger and Shriver, who is a member of the Kennedy clan, asked Lowe to take a senior campaign spot.

Bonnie Reiss, a strategist for Schwarzenegger's campaign who's also a Democrat, told the newspaper that she's met with Lowe. Campaign representative Karen Hanretty would say only that a formal announcement about the campaign team would be made in days to come.

Documentation? That's serious stuff to banter around.

He was caught on tape. Pretty damning evidence, if you ask me.

Has everyone here at FR, usually on the cutting edge, figured out that this Arnold thing isn't what it's cracked up to be yet?

Soon somebody will add that "he's really a Conservative Republican, just fooling the voters out there...but when he's elected...."

California is really, really detrimental to the economic and moral health of the US. Maybe the rest of us would be better off if Bustamente (sp?) won, joined Mexico as a northern state, and just let them completely bleed dry. And, then, really close the border!

That's fairly easy to prove. He (Lowe)did the deed on tape, with an underaged girl. Convicted in a court of law and did community service. I'll let you do the google search.

Thanks...I guess I should spend more time reading PEOPLE (sarcasm)

That makes him totally unacceptable as a campaign advisor. That would make him a sex offender.

Be not confused by all the hyphenated terms. There are conservatives and there are those who are not conservative.

"Paleos" are peace at any price types and cultivate weird characters like lavender Justin Raimondo who writes for Pravda and runs antiwar.com.

Conservatives know who conservatives are: Shorthand: We are the ones who elected Ronald Reagan many, many times. Our younger regiments are the political heirs of the people who elected Ronald Reagan. We believe in strong families (one man, one woman and their kids and other relatives), strong military, strong foreign policy, tightfisted policies that leave our earnings where they belong: with us, tight-fisted policies of shrinking government SPENDING, the 2nd Amendment INDIVIDUAL right of every American to keep and bear arms: militia or no militia, the right of innocent babies not to be sliced, diced and hamburgerized, and that government is tolerated primarily for two purposes: defending citizens from being attacked by foreign enemies or by domestic criminals; that the constitution says what it means and means what it says. Many of us have other issues but those are the litmus tests.

Review that list of litmus tests over and over. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to believe that Schwarzenkennedy is on the right side of EVEN ONE of those tests much less all. Maxine Waters would get as good a score as Schwarzenkennedy. Henry Waxman or either of the Sanchez sisters would do as well. Matsui would probably do better. You would not want your daughter dating Gary Condit but he would score higher. You would not want your daughter to date Mrs. Schwarzenkennedy's Uncle Ted (assuming you care abot seeing your daughter again) but he is old enough that even he might score higher and certainly would not score worse unless there is a driving test.

As St. Paul said: Be not afraid. Long before October 7, this turkey Schwarzenkennedy will be done. Only Demonrats can save him now and he has to divide that vote with Arianna Airhead and with Cruz Bustamente and with Larry Flynt. It is hard to keep up with amateur hour over at Schwarzenkennedy's campaign but we will manage and he goes down for the count within three weeks. The GOP ship will desert the sinking rats.

This must be the first political campaign of the 21st Century that's all "show politics." If it were strictly that, Arnold would win in a landslide. I'm thinking that Arnold will run a Seinfeld campaign. Nothing liberal, nothing conservative, just Ahn-old, all the time.

I had heard the same thing...I think I saw him on Leno a few years back and he said something along the lines of.."if you're 21 and a Republican you have no soul, but if you're 35 and a Democrat, you've lost your mind"...or something like that.

Maybe there's hope!

Try to work for a Republican victory, rather than electing Bustamante.

The election of Ahnuld would not be a "Republican victory."

Rather, it would be another nail in the coffin of the Republican Party.

Just keep looking at an apple and say its an orange and do it over and over again. Do you think the apple will change into an orange?

Now say that Arnold is a Republican and say that over and over again. Do you think he will change to Republican or will he stay a Democrap (as ordered by his wife and the Kennedys!)

Had the DNC any brains they would have recruited and paid for every lefty actor and actress from Hollywood to run for governor, along with carnival freaks and midget wrestlers too! I wonder if they could have gotten Dennis Rodman to run? Heck, Kobe Bryant too! Too bad they aren't that smart!

I think the destruction of the Catholic church is being done very well by the church itself. I have a clue...more than a clue. However, we could never agree so...that's it for me as I am not on here to banter back and forth.

Actually I believe he filmed two underage girls getting it on. I don't think he was, um, "involved" himself. I could be wrong.

They are simply trying to implement "The Web of Inclusion" and it's not going to be acceptable to many here!!!

According to the poll, over half of the FReepers support Arnie...And probably that many Democrats do as well...

Although I pulled the lever for Bush, I quit being a Republican some time ago...And if Arnold is a conservative, I don't want to be one of those any longer either...They stole our name...We'll have to invent a new one...
