SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Arnold Schwarzenegger added more brawn to his campaign team on Thursday by announcing ex Secretary of State George Shultz would join his campaign as an economic adviser, according to the candidate's spokesman.

Seeking to counter opponent's attacks that the muscleman-turned-actor was not qualified to serve as California's governor, Schwarzenegger has assembled a team of political veterans behind the scenes and some top finance names in the foreground.

On Wednesday, he named billionaire Democrat Warren Buffett as his senior economic adviser, then donated $1 million to his own campaign to help fund the new team.

Spokesman Sean Walsh said on Thursday that Shultz, who served as secretary of state under president Ronald Reagan, would also join the economic advisory team.

Its not going to pass Congress. Its the ultimate "special interest" amendment. Yeah I can see Democrats voting to make easier for Arnold to beat Hillary. It will NEVER happen not if the Wicked Witch Of New York has anything to say and do about it.

`SECTION 1. A person who is a citizen of the United States, who has been for 20 years a citizen of the United States, and who is otherwise eligible to the Office of President , is not ineligible to that Office by reason of not being a native born citizen of the United States.

Ask DanFromMichigan if he'd like to see this amendment pass. LOL.

Yep, too many economic advisers can spoil the ecconomic policy just as surely as too many cooks spoil the soup.

I don't think so either. There would be an uprising, at lease in this household.

It looks like he is building a foundation of advisors from Milton Friedman's Hoover Institute. Thomas Sowell cannot be far behind. Meanwhile Jesse Jackson is being hermetically glued to Gray Davis...

Here is George Shultz's bio page at Hoover Institute.

Schultz was chair of Reagan's Economic Policy Advisory Board and has a PhD in industrial economics from MIT.

The reason the natural born citizen requirement was included in the Constitution was because King George I came to the throne in England in 1714. George was a distant cousin of Queen Anne and the closest male heir but he grew up in Germany and knew German and hardly any English. (The king of England didn't know English LOL) So when Anne died George becomes a king who knew very little of about workings his kingdom. The Americans at the constitutional convention knew about George's reign as king earlier in the same century.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Arnold Schwarzenegger added more brawn to his campaign team on Thursday by announcing ex Secretary of State George Shultz would join his campaign as an economic adviser, according to the candidate's spokesman.

Shultz is the pipeline to the White House. Shultz and Rice made up then Governor Bush's foreign policy advisory team. Shultz is probably on the phone with Rove; indeed, I wouldn't be surprised if Rove arranged for the hiring.

I think I know where Ahnuld is going with this: hire a bunch of top notch gunslingers and tell them to be bold and be filled with serious intent. The comparison to the Davis crowd is beyond measure.

Davis will know that it's all over when James A. Baker III ambles off a commuter plane and takes up a floor of the Sacramento Radisson.

Be Seeing You,

Chris
