Did you hear what Kolbe said to Tancredo when Tancredo pointed out to him his bill is in effect an amnesty for illegal aliens? It was similar to: "sssshhh, don't say that, or we'll never get it passed."
In other words, yes, it's an amnesty, but let's keep quiet about it, or call it something else otherwise we won't be able to spoonfeed this down people's mouths so easily. The man definitely needs to be recalled and retired for the good of the country.
I think I explained some of this earlier in this thread. We've tried to elect someone else. Last year we ran retired LTC Jim Behnke against him in the Republican Primary. I was so impassioned about tossing Kolbe out, I ended up as Behnke's Assistant Campaign Chairman. For one, we were swimming against the current and the Republican establishment didn't want to see Kolbe defeated. Heck, there were people here on FR who knew full well what a freakin' RINO Kolbe is, but they would not support Behnke because they were yellow bastards afraid that somehow Behnke couldn't win the General Election against one of the lamest Democrats you've ever seen.
The district lines are drawn such that we have no political power down here. Everyone in Kolbe's district in Cochise County could vote for his opponent and Kolbe would still win with the votes he'd get in Tucson.
One of the primary reasons that Kolbe stays in office are the retirees whose Pavlovian response to Kolbe's Social Security/Medicare roadshows keep them pulling the lever for the corrupt RINO. He's a loser on the immigration issue but Tucson and Green Valley don't care. Just keep those checks coming. His border position has lead to millions of jobs lost to Americans, closed trauma centers, violent crime, trampled sensitive environmental areas, national security nightmares, and people who live in fear in their homes but Tucson doesn't care because Kolbe is sooooo "progressive" that he thinks killing babies in the womb or just outside the womb (see his votes against the PBA ban) is a perfectly good idea.
When I saw Tom Tancredo here in town in February I told him that since we lack any legitimate representation down here he's our only representative in Congress. He said that I wasn't the only one who has told him that.
Kolbe's got go to! But the only way to make that happen is 1.)we need someone from Tucson who people know and respect and 2.)he needs a lot of money to go up against Kolbe's campaign warchest of millions of dollars. Tell me who that is and I'll go work for him just like I worked for Behnke.
