We didn't blow it in 94. A piece of garbage RINO was bribed by the dems to switch votes. There wasn't much we could do about it.

A sideline to this is that it will make the clintons look like true heroes if the RATS keep the governorship. That means hillary gains momentum for her presidential run either in 04 or 08. Do we want to give the clintons a burst of wind in their sails?

What happens to the recall election if Davis resigns 3 days before the election? You know. The polls say he can't win, so he pulls a Torricelli and passes it off to Cruz.

A vote for Tom McClintock, Bill Simon or Peter Ueberroth is a vote for Cruz BustamanteBut a vote for Arnold Schwarzenegger is a vote for...Arnold Schwarzenegger. Why have the recall at all if you're going to put in someone who is almost to the left of Davis?

Explain to me: Cruz is saying that Gray Davis' policies are correct and the man deserves to stay in power. But IF you Californians disagree and choose to throw his ass out, then vote for me in the replacement election so that I can continue these same suicidal policies?

Running only one candidate assures the Dems of maximizing the vote of their hardcore constituency. Bustamante will get anywhere from 30% to near 50% of the vote, depending on turn out. From what I have read, if someone votes "NO" on the recall, they do not get to vote for a replacement. Or if they do, the ballot is void. So this would mean that a Davis supporter would have to choose between Davis and Bustamante. If Davis gets about 20-30% "NO" votes as expected, that would mean that Bustamante gets 10-30%.

First thing Arnold must do is revamp the election system - too much corruption and fraud.
Secondly, white Democrats won't vote for Cruz because of the alien problems in that state. Just a fact.

An assured Democrat loss and Republican victory could become a Democratic win if the Republicans fragment like they did in 1994. I agree. The liberal Republicans torched us in 94 and are trying to do it again now.

Take a break here gang. It doesn't matter the outcome. If Cruz gets in you will see the state fall further & the handouts will become less & the people on the dole will react byu blaming the libs & the next election should allow us true conservatives to put in a person that will win. If not California goes further into the sinkhole. So I'm voting for the one that is the true conservative - never the RINOs. GO TOM GO!

Novak, in another editorial also points out that Bustamante's best shot is that McClintock and Simon tear Arnold down:
"Bustamante certainly will not win on charisma, but he has many advantages: the only substantial Democrat in the field, his Latin ethnicity, and perhaps most important, the title "lieutenant governor" on the ballot.
This rare opportunity for a little known political lifer to become governor depends, ironically, on ability of conservative Republicans to tear down Schwarzenegger as an untrue believer. Simon and McClintock have begun the assault"
http://www.townhall.com/columnists/robertnovak/rn20030814.shtml Ironic, isn't it that the so-called conservative Republicans are the ones who can hand Cruz the victory and are working hard to do so.

Only idiots haven't realized that what you said is 100% true in this post.
