If congress was in play, I'd have to; he'd caucus with the Dems....I like Zell Miller, but I did't vote for him because the of Senate Senate balance. You have to think what the Party will do. Ralph Hall isn't going to be able to get his party to go along with him. On the other hand-Connie Morella would vote against conservative issues........(scream) I have no idea what to do.

I'll give you what I do when confronted with a Republican I can't in good conscious vote for. I abstain or vote third party. I could never vote for a Democrat. But I refuse to vote straight Republican just because someone has an "R" by their name. Issues DO matter; principles DO matter.

So if I were in your position, I wouldn't vote for either one (if I understood your dilemma).

I don't know how Arnold voted. I suppose there are some people on FreeRepublic that did not vote for Bush because he was too liberal of a Republican for them.

Hey, you were the one who made the 75% claim. I live in California, so I'd like the California governor to not raise taxes or end Prop 13. Plus, Californian's voted overwhelmingly against gay marriage, so how about a governor who respected our decision.

I agree with all three of those requests. I doubt that Cruz or Gray will though. I don't know what Arnold will do. He should be asked those questions in the debates or by the media. Has he answered them ?

No, not any Republican is better than a Democrat. Many of my conservative friends were all gung-ho for Pete Wilson because of reapportionment, and vetoing the evil Democrat gerrymandering plan was the ONLY principled thing Wilson did in his 8 years in office.

Of course, this was after he put forth one of the largest tax increases in California history ...

Liberal Republican governors raise taxes, and Republican legislators tend to roll much faster when one of their own is in the corner office. If Arnold were governor during this last budget crisis, Republicans would never have held firm on taxes because Arnold would have been the first to roll. Just like Wilson.

But I can not in good conscious vote for someone who I don't agree with on basic issues. I won't vote for a Democrat, but I won't vote for Arnold, either.

Usually. But shouldn't a candidate have to win over voters? We are being told we should vote for him before we know anything he would do. So far we can't identify one position that he is to the right of Davis on. So far, we only know he loves spending, and his advisors love taxes.

You can't look up how I voted. You can only look up the fact that I did vote. But if you talked to anybody who knows me, you'll get a pretty good idea I didn't vote for Gore.

Of Course voters should be won over. Arnold should fire Buffet if it is true he wants to raise property taxes-dire cuts are in order instead...Of course, the feds force CA to
take care of a lot of illegals. CA is between a rock and a hard place since the courts struck down prop 187. Arnold should definitely state his positions:give people a reason to vote for him (or not vote for him). Arnold is a very unusual candidate. Most Repubs are not as liberal as he appears to be (Jeffords was the only on I can think who was
a true liberal and he's gone).
