As predicted by the critics, CFR has not and will not reduce or remove soft money from politics, it will only make getting around the law a little more complex, devious, and dishonest. No wonder Harold Ickes is involved.

I've been wondering when His Ickiness would once again surface. He's a Clinton man alright, in this case, Hillary!
Hillary! for president for 2004.

"Welcome to campaign finance reform," said Harold Ickes, a former Clinton administration adviser taking part in the effort. "The genesis of all these new groups in large measure is the need to raise soft money and to do whatever they can do in terms of voter mobilization, within the bounds of the law." Since when was Ickes or any other Democrat associated with clinton at all concerned about 'the bounds of the law'?
