A 22-year-old woman was wounded when a handgun that had been hidden inside an oven discharged when she opened the door, police said.
Colsaun Bailey, the 17-year-old alleged owner of the gun, was arrested, though police said they did not believe he fired the weapon, The Journal News reported Wednesday.
"We are operating on the assumption that nobody picked up the gun and fired it," police Capt. John McCoy told the newspaper.

"We are operating on the assumption that nobody picked up the gun and fired it,"Better check for gremlins in the ovens. If none are found, ban all ovens.
Better yet, gun to bullet, if it's too hot in the oven get out"!

Up in the air, Junior Birdmen; up in the air, upside down,
Up in the air, Junior Birdmen; with your noses to the ground.
And when you hear the grand announcement: that your wings are made of tin.
Well, then you know, Junior Birdmen, it's time to send your box tops in.
For it takes: 5 box tops, 4 bottle bottoms, 3 coupons, 2
wrappers, and one thin dime!
Make a face mask each time you sing the words, "Junior Birdmen" by lacing your fingers. Then, with thumbs under the chin, twist your hands outwards so that you make goggles for the eyes. On "Upside down," perform a jet plane swoop outstretched arms. On "Ground," bring the swooping arms as near to the ground as possible.

In the oven? No way. In fact, they're only dishwasher-safe in the top rack.

Guess guns rather than people really do kill people.

At least once a year, someone hides a gun, money, drugs, dynamite or fireworks in an oven.
Why?

I know this article lends itself to humor, but: A part of gun safety that is usually ignored. Any loaded firearm will go off if it's left in the house and the house burns down. Keep your local firemen's safety in mind as well as your own.
