It does not matter how many get it from anal sex, gays, drug users or wherever. The facts are that the disease does spread by contact with bodily fluids.

This is the reason all dentists now wear protective masks, many surgeons wear extreme protective equipment during surgery.

My points are:

1. Gays are people too and are entitled to health care no matter how a disease is contracted. All the sexually transmitted diseases are treated - why an exception to Aids? (I don't need an answer please - I've heard enough of the "let em die" type answers).

2. Just wishing that people will change their behavior has never solved any problems because we live in a morally freer climate. How many out-of-wedlock babies are there? How many jails to hold criminals we were unable to convince to live a crime free life? How many treatment centers to try and cure drug and alcoholic addicts? Have we solved the drug problem? Why not?

People will make their own decisions about what they do. We have weak people, strong people, stupid people. You get the message - people are different.

3. Lastly - I know full well how a lot of Aids is spread - I am not an idiot. I also know full well that nurses have caught the disease from a pinprick in treating a patient. I know that a major sports figure had to retire from sports because he was HIV positive and was a danger to his teammates. I can name hundreds of instances of aids being caught by those not involved with anal sex or gay relationships.

4. The disease in our society will infect more and more of our young people, more and more "innocents", more and more heterosexuals.

All treatment professions have had to change procedures to insure protection of care givers because the disease can be transmitted when they treat a patient coming in contact with blood or bodily fluids. The fluid splashed into their eyes, mouth, or into a cut will cause the disease in them. Many patients do not even know they have the disease so these professions treat people as if all have the disease. An exposed male can unknowingly transmit the disease to his wife. His wife can transmit the disease to an unborn child. On and on.

So, we treat the disease in all patients in our society to prevent the spread throughout our whole society.

Now - call me ignorant but don't bother to try and teach me about this disease. Apparently I know a good deal more than many on here as they think this is only a problem among gays and if they choose to act foolishly, by dang, we are not going to pay for research to get rid of the disease. Meanwhile, their teenagers are exposed daily through sports, through our free sex society and the many sexual partners who might have somewhere come in contact with the disease and unknowingly be HIV positive.

Of course, we can teach our children not to get involved with sex until marriage, we can analyze the problem with the gay lifestyle and make them quit having sex, we can make HIV positive people remain celibate or only have sex with other HIV positive people, we can put in place tests for all citizens to quickly identify those who have become HIV positive and publicize the names of the positives so everyone will stay away from them.

Seems a little risky to me. Maybe we ought to spend our efforts in finding cures.

Considering the stats, I think a Compassionate Society Should Discourage Deadly Homosexual Behavior

All the sexually transmitted diseases are treated - why an exception to Aids?

Please provide the post where one of the above folks you pinged said we should not find a cure or treat AIDS.

Just wishing that people will change their behavior has never solved any problems because we live in a morally freer climate.

Nobody is just wishing. Thousands have left the gay lifestyle or deathstyle depending on your perspective. Here's some links on where homosexuals can get help:

  1. Abiding Truth
  2. Christians No Longer Gay Living For God
  3. Choice 4 Truth
  4. Courage
  5. Help for Jewish Homosexuals That is Consistent with Torah Principles
  6. Hope for Homosexuals
  7. Portland Fellowship
  8. It's Not Gay
  9. JONAH
  10. Matthew Manning
  11. Narth
  12. One By One
  13. Sy Rogers
  14. Transforming Congregations
Perhaps if the results from the above organizations weren't squelched or were discussed by major media we wouldn't have the problem we have today.

Apparently I know a good deal more than many on here as they think this is only a problem among gays

Yet not a single post in this thread, or any thread I've read here has stated AIDS is only a problem among gays. You've repeated this false statement more than once and I've corrrected it more than once. The facts do state AIDS is predominate among gay males. Here's something you may find interesting: The Myth of Heterosexual AIDS

Seems a little risky to me. Maybe we ought to spend our efforts in finding cures.

Do you think we should spend a disproportionate about of money on AIDS research especially when the main cause of AIDS is preventable?

4. The disease in our society will infect more and more of our young people, more and more "innocents", more and more heterosexuals.

The bottom line is that homosexual anal sex and WILD promiscuity has spread AIDS, and those getting it from needle sticks and so would NEVER get it if it hadn't been for the homosexuals spreading it among themselves and then out into the rest of the population.

. Just wishing that people will change their behavior has never solved any problems because we live in a morally freer climate.

There's the solution. There needs to be a moral change of climate in this country. The "freer" morals you speak of are the source of most of the terrible problems we are facing, AIDS is not the worst of them. Wishing doesn't help, but accepting the serious moral decline as inevitable will make it worse. Action can and should be taken, and one of those actions is to NOT ACCEPT the homosexual movement's lies, but to tell the truth. Homosexuals are unhappy people who are killing themselves and now others, for instance those you mentioned in medical professions. Homosexuals can change, and until this truth is allowed to be broadcast, people are going to continue to get and give AIDS.

Name one.

I know that a major sports figure had to retire from sports because he was HIV positive and was a danger to his teammates.

Or was he simply a percieved threat due to propaganda like the type of propaganda you are attempting to spread here? Name a single case of HIV caused by playing basketball with an HIV positive person.

I can name hundreds of instances of aids being caught by those not involved with anal sex or gay relationships.

You will only be believable if these cases involve IV drug use or babies born to people who are infected.

Gays are people too and are entitled to health care no matter how a disease is contracted.

You screwed up on your first point. Nobody is entitled to health care. If you want it, you can find a physician who is willing to treat you on the promise that you will pay for the services. If you believe that other people have some obligation to dip into their pockets to pay for your medical services, then you are an immoral dolt and a thief. Don't catch anything you can't afford to treat on your own nickel.

If I were a seminar poster deployed by GLAAD or GLSEN to spread enlightenment among the conservative heathens, I'd put up a post exactly like your #44. Your final policy recommendation is precisely the Gay Rights position -- forget prevention, just cure us NOW!

A couple of points in reply:

1. The North Carolina stats cited here, and the linked article, show that in their state, AIDS is still overwhelmingly a gay disease, with dirty needles trailing behind as a second important route of propagation.

2. Dirty needles and sodomy are the keys. Heterosexual or homosexual anal sex is far and away the leading method of propagation -- even in Africa, as British researchers have just found out.

3. It is the lifestyle! Ergo, sanctions against the lifestyle, and measures to protect the rest of the population, are in order. Gays have fought against this basic idea of public hygiene for more than 20 years -- challenging the Texas sodomy law in 1981 in a forum-shopped federal district court (with a screaming McGovernite on the bench), even as the AIDS epidemic was breaking out. Dallas-area doctors tried to intervene in the case, but were tossed out on their ear by the Left-wing judge, assisted by a gay former president of the American Psychiatric Association, who testified for the gay appellants and against the doctors' brief.

All those dead people have become a hecatomb to the "right" of gays to indulge in the bathhouse scene undisturbed, to take boinking holidays afloat or in Haiti or on St. Bart's, and to transmit the disease to more of their fellow-gays and spread it out into the heterosexual community without putting up with any guff from the "retards" of society whom you just told in your #44 not to try to tell you anything about AIDS.
