Agreed that commercial air missle defense needs to be a top US aviation priority. Someone needs to inform former Congressman, now Senator Schumer, that only the Congress can appropriate funds. The President can sign or veto a bill, but it originates in Congress.

"The threat facing commercial airliners from shoulder-fired missiles here in the United States is no longer theoretical," Schumer said in a statement.
"The White House ought to be providing homeland security with the money it needs to begin protecting civilian aircraft with jamming devices immediately, before it's too late."
Dear Senator Chuckie:
The White House has no power to provide money for anything. It's the Congress that provides money for Homeland Security. So, hop to it.

One suspect, a British citizen, was arrested in Newark, New Jersey, trying to smuggle the Russian-made surface-to-air missile into the country.
...
The British Broadcasting Corporation, which first reported the story with ABC News, said the suspect was a British arms dealer who successfully imported a Russian Igla missile into the United States and believed he was selling it to a Muslim extremist.
So which is it?
Then later:
The FBI said it knew the missile, disguised as medical equipment, was shipped from Russia to Baltimore, Maryland, the BBC reported.
Did it arrive?

For once, Schumer has a good point. He left out the part that should say "Homeland security did a great job averting a potential disaster. Kudos."

http://www.centredaily.com/mld/centredaily/news/6519063.htm How strange!
The company accused of being the illegal money laundering thing, is an international jewelry outfit, with a new store in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia!
Could the newspaper have gotten this Yehuda mixed up with another Yehuda Abraham?
The site says it has sold to royal families. Why would they get mixed up in money laundering?
They are obviously Jewish, from the name.
I dont see how they could be involved in Islamic terrorism.
Shermy and crew,re the Paracha thing, this guy has a store in Bangkok,Thailand,Baltimore is involved in both stories, one Yehuda lives or works on "Clifton Street" in New Jersey.Remember the mother mentioning "Clifton, New Jersey?
One of you asked about "Chanco", it being a factor in the Paracha thing, well, Ambuy was at at least one gem trade show at the same time Chanco was.
Is there a connection between Paracha and this missle sting?
Or is EVERYTHING connected, once you start googling?

From http://www.family-web.org/surnames/Lakhani.htm
My name is Mansoor Lakhani. I was born in Pakistan to a Sunni Lakhani family. I know there are lot of Islameeli Lakhanis in Pakistan, but we are not related to them in anyway.
Anyway, according to my grandfather my ancestors who resided in India shared the last name of Lakhan. Then some Saint from Persia moved to India and converted many followers of Hinduism to Islam. Those members of the Lakhan family that converted changed their last name to Lakhani to distinguish themselves from those who did not convert. Well, ours was the family that converted and that is why we ended up with this last name "Lakhani".
