I'm a fifties woman too and agree with everything you said.

Health clubs were unheard of,we ate everything, and rarely exercised. The problem now is the abundance of processed ,easy to prepare foods,fast food restaurants, and millions of Dunkin Donuts,Starbucks and Brueggers.

I was a child in the 60s and I remember my mom dieting, and I remember Jack La Lane on TV leading exercises. I also remember seeing women out in grocery stores with curlers in their hair. And smoking -- every adult smoked. It was horrible riding in the backseat of the car with my parents smoking in the front and all the smoke going back into our faces.
