If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious and this is her reply A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen
Fellow Freepers .I bring you Logan!!!
Glad you approve! Now, if I can just REMEMBER!!!!!!
Please take heart and know that this sweet child CAN make it. My wife is a Labor & Delivery Nurse (RNC) and they pull little one's like this through almost all of the time these days.
The important thing to do is to be in the NICU as much as you can - talk to Brad, touch him, hold his sweet little hand - let Brad know that you are there for him. Make certain Mom gets her rest - a tired Mom can't do all the things needed to pull this baby through.
Our last Son was in the NICU for two weeks. It was a very scary time for us, but we worked in shifts to ensure that one of us was with him ALL the time. My wife expressed breast milk (the best thing for him), and I delivered it to the NICU every night so that Josh got fresh milk with every bottle.
The NICU nurses are Angels. There is a special place in heaven for them. Bring them donuts, coffee - and talk to them. And, though it may seem surprising (in these times), most of the NICU and L&D nurses we know these days are Christians - and are already praying for Brad.
Oh my ....
First of all, THANK YOU for your heart felt note...
Wait. I'm going to compile a FRmail for you. Just hang on for a second, OK? (Well, a minute or two..)
:-)
Sheesh, I wrote alot! :)
You have FRmail. Finally.
This is me in my bath tonight. It is so much fun when my big brother gets in with me. Mommy doesn't like it as much; I don't know why.
Termite, you are growing too fast. I know all these other people are telling you to keep growing like a weed, but I am telling you to slow down! I am 6 months older and you are SO GAINING ON ME, DUDE. Not fair! I am 18 now and I am only 31 inches tall and if I hold all my breath and have a wet diaper I am 20 pounds.
Doesn't teething stink? And it never stops. Yuck.
Your friend forever,
Oliver
Oh my gosh. LOOK at him!!! He's SOOOOOOO CUTE!!!
And look at that mouth FULL of teeth!!!
WHOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
YOU GO OLIVER!!!
Have they learned to throw the wash cloth up on the ceiling and try to get it to stick for a few seconds trick yet????
Oliver sure is a cutie
OLIVER!... Hi Buddy ! It's great to see your handsome little face... and teeth! Yep, teething stinks! But at least I have a lot to chew on (Mommy, Nana, toys, tables, etc!)
I love baths too! Do you have a little yellow duckie? Guess you don't need one since you have a big brother to play with while you bathe. You're a lucky guy... I just have a puppy! LOL
Please give your Mommy a hug for me and tell her we may be little, but we're mighty!
Hugs to you and your family... Your Freeper Friend...
*TT*
Maybe it's almost time to start that handsome youngin' in some disciplined martial arts, to corral that temper of his.
Don't you want that handsome man being an officer, and leading his men into battle? or are you hoping he's a maverick?
Ya can't have too many haircuts. :)
Another lil miracle, boy he growing up fast!
Looks like a little man, and his name Oliver is perfect.
God Bless all the NICU miracle babies.
Logan is going start out as a grunt carrying a rifle first, then he's going to mustang his way up to a full bird colonel in a couple of years.
You be one fine looking dude!
C'mon down to see the Termite, and I'll take both of you to the rifle range!
We'll blow up a bunch of stuff!
TC, if it will make these young gents happy you can start with me!!
Again........
Oh Oh ! Something tells me the big guys are getting ready for a round of fun with big guns a-shootin' !!
Just you wait 'til I get big.... I'm gonna be right there with y'all :)
*TT* (and Mommy & Nana will have to come too!)
LOL! Shhhhhh!
Obviously didn't read ten thousand items, but just want to say PRAYERS for the little one............
Do you do this with your ducky?
I like your growing puppy! Brothers are cool too. They are very funny and make you laugh. I have two of them.
Baby FReepers rule!!!
Love, your buddy Oliver
