If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious and this is her reply A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen
Fellow Freepers .I bring you Logan!!!
Once again, our Heavenly Father has blessed us and showed His love for this little guy.. Logan went through the surgery like the little champion fighter that he is!!
He went into surgery at 11:30 am and was in there until right at 1 pm. There was over 3 oz. of fluid in the left scrotum that they removed through the old hernia incision on the left side. They elected to drain the right one since it was so much smaller instead of making 2 incisions. He was also circumcised. This time, the doctor didn't give him any "tequila sunrise" meds (relaxers to all but Texans!!), and put him under only enough to keep him free from pain and still. He was immediately breathing on his own after surgery and was awake about an hour later. His crying is a sure sign of the strength of this baby!!
Logan will stay over night at the hospital and be released tomorrow if all goes well and we have no reason to think that it won't. It's a beautiful sunny day in TEXAS!!
When he goes home, there are no restrictions on him other than no tub baths for a week. He can kick and play and be taken for strolls. The boy can now go visiting after he heals from this surgery. We have protected him so from colds, etc., and of course still will....... but not to the extreme extent that we did before.
The NICU nurses that were on duty today heard that "Logan was in the house", and he was visited by 13 or 14 of them that had taken such special care of him when he was in NICU. They were all in tears at how big and wonderful he looked. They visited with him in pre-op and he was very busy talking to them, smiling, making raspberries and sucking his tumb. They call him the biggest miracle to go thru there in years because he was so small, and an anglo boy child.
So indeed, the miracle continues. Prayers have once again been answered and the angels fanned his beautiful little face with their wings. God has been so very giving and loving to us all. Logan belongs to all of us. Had it not been for those who have been steadfast in their watch and prayers...... this amazing story might have taken a different path.
From our family to all of yours..... thank you once again. We offer our prayers for all of you, for your needs and intentions, and our thanks to God for his blessings.
One more picture is attached. It was taken last night in his daddy's arms...... Look that those big beautiful blue eyes !
We love y'all......
THANK YOU GOD!!!!
I agree...!!!!!!
What is ANOTHER wonderful thing through all of this is the fact that Logan's nurses got to see him. They lovingly take care of SO MANY of these babies without ever hearing what happens when they go home.
I'm slow and have people who will attest to that. Ha! I JUST SAW YOUR COMMENT!!! I LOVE it! Team Logan!
Apologies for any multiple pings
LOL about how he always gives that certain pose for the camera! Too funny!
Can't wait til he is all better from the surgery and back to his old tricks. Happy, healthy healing, little Logan.
To Termite from Peanut [alias for Oliver, 1 yr old but the size of a 6 month old]: At least you didn't have the whole family standing around and watching your ... you know.... like I did! Hurry up and get bigger than me; I know you're gonna, so get it over with already! Love, Peanut
