If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious
and this is her reply
A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years
but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen

They usually do a little bit after they're born. I'm not a nurse or doctor....but yeah, I think they always do.
I HAVE been wrong b/4....

Logan ... not a name you hear often. I have a cousin with that name.
Prayers on the way for this little one.
Hey, Terry ... can you ping the usual suspects?

My prayers to you and Logan. I have had this *exact* same experience - one of my daughters was born at 26 weeks gestation, 2lbs 2 oz. God bless.

"Prayer bump for Logan. (Did I understand correctly that he's lost weight?) "
All babies lose a little weight after they are born. It's good if they can regain it within a couple weeks after they are born. I'm sure it's a little different though when they are born this young. I think they usually eat with a feeding tube rather than being nursed or bottle fed. Him kicking and reacting to mommy sounds like he's got strength!

My wife was this size at birth - in Europe, in 1939, right after the start of WW II. Our thoughts go out for Logan.
