If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious
and this is her reply
A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years
but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen

We will be praying for Logan.
We spent several months in the NICU with our baby. They had a bulletin board covered with pictures of big healthy kids. Written on them were the weights of all these kids when they were babies. Many of them were between 700 to 10000 grams.
To: Chesterbelloc
700 to 10000 grams. I cannot even comprehend that. There are those of us who just don't know how good we have it, aren't there?

Heavenly Father,
You formed this child in your own perfect image. You knew him as he grew in his mother's womb.
We beg you to look upon him now and give him the strength he needs to live and praise Your name. Look upon his parents and his family, that they may have faith in his recovery, and peace if You should call him home to You. Look upon the doctors and nurses, that they may use their gifts of knowledge to save this beautiful child.

Hang in there, Logan...we're all pulling for you!

Okay--prayers added from this quarter as well.

700 to 10000 grams Oops, that was supposed to be 700 to 1,000 grams. I think there were even some babies at 500 grams or slightly lower. We learned to think metric at the hospital. If my math is correct then Logan is at about 750 grams now.
And with the weight gain he is heading in the right direction.
Logan not needing the vent is great to hear! Takes away an infection risk. What a beautiful little guy he is!
To: Chesterbelloc
His mom's going to be reading this tonight, probably, so she's going to see all of this.
Such wonderful words of encouragement!!

Thanks for joining in, attagirl. Isn't this an amazing miracle? 1.5 lb is like 4 oranges. By the grace of God, this little life fights on and is pulling through.
See update of Logan's condition at post #135.
