"I have gotten the message," Davis told NBC's Today Show

That was just the pre-message. You'll get the real message on election/recall day.

The excitement about Schwarzenegger, he added, "is going to wear for a while and then I think we're going to get back to a real campaign. ... We're going to have to start talking about issues."

Yes, the issues..Let's see, since it is fairly commonly acknowledged that Governor Davis misled the public about the states fiscal health while lying his way to a narrow re-election, and you let it go that way, don't you share some repsonsibility for that, or were you unaware of the extent of the states fiscal problems...?

Which is it, are you like Governor Davis, a liar, or merely incompetent ?

California Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante: "I am an average guy trying to do an above-average job."

When this happens the results are the prediciment that CA is now in.

Davis' comments are alot like Clinton's "I feel your pain" and his "I've never worked harder...blah,blah,blah."I think it's all too little too late. Davis doesn't have the "Clinton charm" to pull this off.

The recall is now estimated to cost $70 million. A few weeks ago, Davis said it would cost $30 million.

Prior to last Nov. election he estimated the deficit at $12 billion, but just days aftet the election he estimated $35 billion.

He must go, for math incompetence, if for no other reason.

Does Bustamante claim he opposed the car tax increase? Is that sucking up to the pissed off voters, setting up a claim he will refund the increases?

"I have gotten the message," Davis told NBC's Today Show.

No, he hasn't. He still hasn't used the "I" words (Illegal Immigrants) in any of his "plans" to put the brakes on spending.

I have never accused Davis of not working hard.

I have accused him of not working smart.

And why would I want to hire Bustamante the average guy to do a job that needs someone way above average?

I don't want the dumb candidate!

I am eagerly awaiting Arnold's campaign positions, but I can already tell you one thing: His IQ is higher than Davis and Bustamante combined.

Like Gen Burgoine, Davis has gotten the message. Like Gen Burgoine, Davis will call in the Hessians. I'd laugh if Clinton cut and run on Guvenuh Gray. Perhaps Al 'Quaeda' Gore would like to speak on Gray's behalf.

Memo to the Duke in his palatial Sacremento Duchy: Hemlock is a painless way to go.

Memo to Gray's faithful Seneschal Bob MulHolland: Dum-Dums are stricly illegal according to The Geneva Convention.

When this happens the results are the prediciment that CA is now in.

You can be an average guy and run a state as long as you understand this :

Taxes >= Spending = Fiscal Responsibility.

Taxes being as low as possible.

"I have gotten the message," Davis told NBC's Today Show.

Then why is he still in California?

But they cannot understand that. To them buying their next vote from a constituency of freeloaders, perverts, envirofascists, and labor unions is all that matters.

Davis reiterated his argument that the recall "is an insult to the 8 million people who went to the polls last November" and will waste $70 million in badly-needed state funds

I wonder what Davis was thinking when He spent almost the same amount, mailing checks for the car registration refund, instead of saving the money by just issuing a credit.

Oops I forgot, the letter with the check said(almost)a gift from Gray Davis!

Davis will work "harder to solve people's problems,"

Wow, that's a dumb admission. "California, I was kind of giving a half-assed effort before, but NOW I'll give 110%!"

Gee, Gray, thanks for getting the message and trying (now) to "work harder to solve the peoples' problems." Unfortunately, you're way too late in your endeavor. Time's up. Next!

I think Bustamente's comments or reasons for voting for him are highly amusing.

===

"But Bustamante presented his relative lack of wealth -- and lack of screaming fans begging for an autograph -- as a different kind of strong suit.

California Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante: "I am an average guy trying to do an above-average job."

(My comment: IOW he is admitting he is NOT up to the job)

"I am an average guy trying to do an above-average job," he told CNN. "I think there is a clear distinction between me and many other candidates. ... I'm the only Democrat in the race, and if you look at the folks on the other sides of the aisle, the other candidates, I am probably the only non-millionaire in the race."

(My comment: IOW Bustamente is the only one who couldn't make it in real life, so he wants to hang onto a government job, at California's expense)

and all this is supposed to make people vote for him?!

"I have gotten the message," Davis told NBC's Today Show.

Which one? The "YOU"RE A LOSER!" one? Or the "We don't want you there!" one or maybe it the "You are killing California" one? Take your pick.

Anyway you look at it, Gov. Gay Davis, you're toast.
