Someone ask him why the Democrats had enough discipline to put Bustamante in as a lead candidate? Republicans have forwarded the name of 4 potentials. What's wrong with the Republican leadership in California?

This is a free country. And as you realize that unlike Nazi Germany and Communist Russia anyone who is a citizen certainly has the right to run for office. Anyone who doesn't have any more sense than to vote for Bust-a-move for governor deserves what they get. Your question assumes that the GOP can prevent anyone who chooses to run to run. False premise...thankfully. Tom McClintock is the only candidate who has a plan to balance the state budget and do so without raising taxes and/or fees. And pledges to reverse the car tax the first day in office. Nothing "wrong" with the GOP leadership although there would be something seriously "wrong" if people who wanted to run for an office were prevented from doing so. Only 57 days 'til we DUMP DAVIS! VOTE 4 MCCLIINTOCK!

SOMEONE SHOULD ASK TOM...
IF HE WOULD BE WILLING TO "TEAM UP" WITH AH-NULD, BECOME THE BRAINS TO ARNOLD'S BRAWN. THAT WOULD BE A WINNING COMBO.
LIKE THE "MASTER-BLASTER" DUO OF 'BARTER TOWN.'

You can ask him yourself...but why settle for a liberal who has no knowledge of how to run a state government or solutions to improve it when you can have a conservative who is intelligent, knowlegible and experienced in how to solve the problems and plans on how to do so. Like having your teenager drive your wife to work but you having to ride along just to make sure he doesn't have an accident or make the wrong turn. We don't have time to train a governor! And we certainly can't afford another liberal just because he has "R" next to his name.

Okay, I made some notes...In the first segment,Mac covered what he would do the first day in office before lunch if elected. He would reverse the triple car tax that the Dimwit Davis signed, he would also rescind the 42 billion dollars in electrical contracts signed by Davis which Mac says were a "conflict of interest". There were some other things that Mac said he could do to lower the cost but I didn't get all of them down. My shorthand isn't as good as it use to be. LOL You can go to
http://www.krla870.com and listen to a re-broadcast of the show again anytime today I believe. McClintock was only on the last 15 minutes of the 7 o'clock hour. Only 57 days 'til we DUMP DAVIS! VOTE 4 MCCLINTOCK!

Oh, now I remember. McClintock also proposed going to the AZ workers' comp system which would cut the cost of workers' comp by 2/3's.

Got it. Kevin ? (only in California a week and a half), sitting in for vacationing Mark Larson, conducted this interview.
Tom McClintock listed his 3 strong reasons for choosing him.
Significant among these was his promise to rescind the $42 billion in long term energy contracts that Gray Davis signed by stupilating how the governor's office had a conflict of interest in those signings. "Gray Davis cannot so stipulate without admitting wrongdoing."
Important to recognize that Gray Davis signed those contracts with other interested parties who are not going to be happy 1) losing money, 2) being named party to conflict of interest.
Whether or not McClintock can successfully pull this off, it is clear his candidacy represents a huge risk to moneyed interests. They are going to be backing any efforts to see that McClintock isn't elected even more than Gray Davis doesn't want to lose his job. Follow the money. All big name candidates are suspect due to who has influence with them. Influence is not limited to money alone.
There really may be, as quite a few have suggested, that McClintock has too much a money problem to be elected. Was this the type of money problem you were talking about? :-)

Well Tom McClintock needs all the support he can get. Simon and Aunold(who is getting FREE publicity daily) are both capable of funding their own campaigns. Although Aunold is in NY? Ya wonder if the guy is a serious candidate or just getting free publicity for his movie. Thanks for your help on the summary of the program this am. I couldn't seem to get it all down. LOL But I thought Mac came across very well! He certainly is knowledgible of the problems and has a definite plan to solve them! He was also on "This Week" yesterday and I thought he did a very good job there too! VOTE 4 MCCLINTOCK!

He always comes across very well. Yet I, and I presume you, keep running up against people who are afraid that Cruz will win if they don't back the biggest name.
Check this out
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/961394/posts?page=20#20 for my explanation for that meekness. It may also help explain why Mac has the type of money problem I suggested above.

I don't think the Democrats got together and put forth one candidate. I think Bustamante's candidacy was an act of raw political opportunism that he perpetrated on his own. He saw Arnold jump in. Figured Davis was toast (a reasonable conclusion), and decided on his own to file papers.

Tom McClintock would be wise to shift his campaign for Governor to a campaign for US Senate against Barbara Boxer next year. A site now is online urging him to do just that:
