[history]
Four decades after Martin Luther King Jr. spoke of his dream for a society that doesn't judge people by the color of their skin, a first-of-its-kind California ballot initiative is sparking fierce new debate over how best to accomplish that.

So what would they do if people just refused/didn't fill out anything?

"It's a measured step to have the government see every citizen equally," said Diane Schachterle, Connerly's campaign coordinator. "Society becoming colorblind is something that we, ourselves, have to do -- and government sets the tone."I'm sure the gummint is only thinking of perfect existence here.
I mean ... we wouldn't wake up some day and find out there are no white people in kalifornicatia and that the 'minorities' are now majority and they are armed and moving north and east to conquer the rest of the US.
Naaaahhhhh ... that's just too far-fetched.
Kinda' like ... whoda'thunk airplanes would be commandeered and used as guided missiles?

Don't be so cynical... if you know anything of what Ward Connerly said, that's not what he means. The point of the article is apparently lost on you. It really is none of anyone's business. Race doesn't matter, culture does. Believe me, the United States does need to move beyond race, and become a colorblind society in that a person's ethnicity doesn't matter in school, jobs, etc.

The race hustlers and the Democratic Party don't like Proposition 54... for the simple reason it will deprive them of their "race card" weapon. That's why they're right its a political nuclear bomb that would gravely hinder their ability to divide Americans for political advantage.

of course! I remember when they were crying about people marking more than one race, then they came up with an idea! Sure go ahead mark whatever you want, but we will intentionally skew the numbers for 'minorities' anyway!
Look at Tiger Woods... perfect example of the ethnic blending in California, and why racial categories are stupid.

Prop. 54 should be on the books in all 50 states.
