Not much interest. Just like Simon's appearance this morning.

Truly uninspiring.

Simon ought to drop out and join the only game in town. California has no patience for a loser.

Well, Sink, you know, I have this plan to solve California's budget, you know, I am going to instruct all the agencies to cut at least 5% across the board you know. You know, Sink, that will cut 5 billion off the 38 billion dollar deficit, or is it 20 billion, or is it 12 billion, whatever, you know, I have a very specific plan, you know, Sink.

I have talked to hundreds of thousand of people Sink, and you know what Sink, they are fed up, and they want lower taxes, and a better education for their kids, and want more jobs, and a healthy environment, and a better quality of life and fiscal responsiblity, and you know what Sink, you know, they are right.

Arnold's not going to win this election on position papers, or statistics, or detailed platforms.

He'll win it on emotion, and optimism, and pleading to the better natures of Californians. Just as Reagan did.

You know that as well as I do.

It's not the guy with the full notebook who wins any election, but the one who inspires confidence and positivity in voters. (Positivity is a word I heard Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys use.)

Maybe. That must be why Dukmejian, Wilson and Davis got elected.

Different demographics. Who the hell were their opponents? Anybody know?

A candidate can win simply on name recognition alone if his opponent is a no-name dullard.

The no name "dullards" were Bradley, Bradley, Feinstein, Kathleen Brown, Lungren, and Simon.

Simon is an idiot.

Complete buffoon.

It's hard to imagine someone being that stupid.

It's as if he wants davis to win or Cruz to win.

I am suprised, Arnie should be your type of guy.Yet you are full tilt for McClintock, knowing he has no chance, except to draw votes from Arnie and install Busty...

I hope you don't give me the "good goverment" retort, as you have supported McCain, who isn't for that at all, so why are you seemingly behind the guys who's job is to sow Republican divisions and rancor? Sometime's I do wonder if you aren't a Democrat after all.

Let me help you with some of this. I am going to let this campaign play out. At the end, we will see who is in the hunt. If McClintock is not, and Arnold is, I will vote for Arnold probably. If no one is in the hunt but Bustamante, because Arnold and McClintock, and Simon are slicing and dicing, and no one drops out, I will vote against the recall. I am in favor of McClintock as my first choice, because he is the most qualified man for the job, in that at this time, job one is to bring the deficit under control, by going after the big game, and having the expertise and smarts to sell it to the California voters with credibility and gravitas.

"It's as if he wants davis to win or Cruz to win."

I think you're exactly right. To paraphrase Bush/Cheney to Gore (and this applies just the same to Simon), 'he's had his chance, he's failed, its time for him to move on'.

Simon is a simple fellow and while I have nothing against simple folk, he is not the man that McClintock is.
