McClintock can win if we consevatives unite A Republican can not win in California without getting votes from outside the GOP. No Independents or Democrats will vote for McClintock. Simon and McClintock will split the anti-Arnold Republican vote, and neither will get any votes from Democrats or Independents. Both Simon and McClintock do not have an icecube's chance in hell.
Ever heard of a "Reagan Democrat"? Those were the voters that gave Reagan his victories. You cannot win California without Democrats and Independents. That is a fact.
