CNN Just Revealed It Was a B-52 That Dropped A bomb on Nagasaki in 1945!
CNN at aprox. 9:20 PM, CDST
Posted on 08/09/2003 7:36:04 PM PDT by Tacis
By accident, I stopped on CNN just as they were doing a story on the anniversary of the successful peace action at Nagasaki in 1945. They showed some older Japanese people as the female announcer, in a voice deep and wet with concern, told about today's moment of silence at 11:02 in commeration of the time in 1945 when "a B-52 dropped an atomic bomb on Nagasaki."

About your "tag line" .....
Why is it better to use lawyers than lab rats?
Lawyers are just as plentiful, and there are just some things rats will not do.

Gee, and they wonder why their ratings are in the toilet?
Would it be too much to ask of a 24 hr news organization to check their facts?

I heard last week that CNN called the Laker's publicist for an interview with Chick Hearn, I could just heard ole Chicky Baby (RIP) say: "CNN's game with FOX is in the refrigerator, with the latter winning handily. The lights are out, the eggs are coolin', the jello's jigglin', and the butter's gettin' hard."

That's almost as precious as the reporter that asked Mickey Mantle's liver transplant surgeon if he could speak to the donor, immediately after learning that the "donor" had donated his liver to Mantle and his lungs, heart, kidneys, and eyes to other patients around the country.

There was a Boeing B50 that looked very much like the B29, which it was derived from, but I found that its first flight was after the war (June 47). Perhaps someone confused those two, then confused the B50 with the B52.

Are we sure CNN on DEC 7th will not lead with:
America Attacks Japan at Pearl Harbor?
To: aristeides
But that's because it could only now be revealed that it was in fact dropped by a B-52 moved back in time by a time machine. Well, of course! Everyone knows the statute of limitations on illegal time-travel in the 40's expired with the turn of the century...

Yeah...and those were Sherman tanks that rolled through the South during the Civil War...and the pilgrims came over on a submarine...

Which bomb got dropped on Nagasaki, anyway? Was it "Person of Size, Self-Identified as of the Masculine Gender" or "Stature Challenged Pre-adult Male"? I can never remember.LOL!!

During the 50th aniversary of the Enola Gay a newspaper in Ohio with the PC spell checker printed the big bold headline:
The Enola Homosexual
so what else can we expect?

If you ever get the chance, read "The Knights of Bushido" , by Lord Livermore. It's an eye opener. I had my Libarian order it for me.
It getting hard to find.

Time warp. It's like when Captain Kirk and the crew of NCC-1701 were shot around the sun and went back in time to 1967 and met Gary 7. I'm not a Trekkie at all, but I know who played the 1960's girl in that episode . . .
and . . .
it . .
was . . .
Terri Garr!
Boy was she cute back then!
To: Michael121
Yeah I can see CNN's headline now.
52 years ago today, American shot down 28 Japanese planes that were visiting Pearl Harbor.

I think it was Micheal Keaton in that movie where his wife goes to work when he loses his job. "220, 221. Whatever it takes.

Yup. Bockscar. It's at Wright-Pat. That's the one. The B-29 is an impressive aircraft. The other significant plane is the Enola Gay, which dropped the bomb on Hiroshima.
Anyone who is interested in the history of air combat needs to visit the US Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton. You can spend a day looking at historically important aircraft.
Apparently no one at CNN had bothered with this, but then again CNN is not concerned with reporting the facts.
