CNN at aprox. 9:20 PM, CDST

By accident, I stopped on CNN just as they were doing a story on the anniversary of the successful peace action at Nagasaki in 1945. They showed some older Japanese people as the female announcer, in a voice deep and wet with concern, told about today's moment of silence at 11:02 in commeration of the time in 1945 when "a B-52 dropped an atomic bomb on Nagasaki."

The B-52 was the SUV of its Age.
I don't know if anybody else observed this, because I am trying to be more like my Mentor, Lazmataz...and post without reading the article.
How'm I doing ?

No, no, Israeli AF officers ARE Nazis, the press told me so! So there is no reason the B52 pilot couldn't be both an Israeli AF officer AND a Nazi.

Oh. OK. Well, if the press said so, it MUST be true!

As I recall, Warp was the Warp number, Cubed, times the speed of light.
So Warp 1 = c, Warp 2=8c, Warp 3=27c, etc. . .
That would make Warp 12 1728c.
So CNN reported the Shuttle was going about Warp 2.62.
Without Sulu OR Chekov at the helm. (g)

Actually, as I recall, "Gary Seven" was a superman, bred for generations somewhere Out There by some benevolent-but-secretive aliens, and placed on Earth to make sure we made it through our "planetary crises". Terri Garr was his secretary, sort of an early Loni Andersen in WKRP-type role. . .looks dumb, isn't. . .

I guess I was trying to figure out where the aircraft carrier comment came from then. But it was funny. :-)

,,, I know there was no 152C's back then - or B-52's. I'm taking the piss out of this story. What's life for if ya can't have a laugh? BTW, I wasn't born until 1958 and I still don't own a 152C. [LOL!]

CNN Just Revealed It Was a B-52 That Dropped A bomb on Nagasaki in 1945! All right everyone, which one do you think it was? My bets are on the Blonde with the shades. She's all set for that ultrabright flash.

CNN also said Taylor flew out today on a 737. It was actually a 727.

"That is like saying the Space Shuttle put men on the moon. I have seen glaring inaccuracies in the media, but they don't care." Do you mean stuff like this:

18 times the speed of light was about warp 2.6.Warp is a logarithmic scale.
I told my wife it was about warp 3.0. I rounded, I tells ya I rounded!! Do I have to turn in my decoder ring???

"Wonder how many Japanese tourists will stop by to get their pictures snapped with the Enola Gar as a backdrop." Don't know about that, but a few years back while I was at the USMC Iwo Jima Memorial a young Japanese girl came up and snapped a few photos of it and then asked me to take a few more of her with it in the background.

"I was born in 1958 too..." You missed a lot of history. I was born in 1951 when there were only 19 states. Then the Republicans pushed for admittance of 29 more to insure Ike's victory as president. He knew he would need the extra states in case the upcoming scandal of the B52 bombing of Japan ever came to light. That's also why he sank Jack Kennedy's PT-109. He wanted to avoid all future challengers.
And I didn't learn this from CNN. Hillary told me about it in her newest book Lying Her Story.

Took what little wind I had outta my sails!!! ,,, my daughter started high school this year - you know how it is, 13 going on 35 and she's available to me for all the advice I need. A few weeks ago she said that I was old (I turn 45 in October) and my immediate comeback was "yeah, I might have stretch marks on my lips, but I've had a lot of fun getting there!" She was kind of impressed in her own whatever sort of way. Teenagers - they can teach us so much!

no surprise here. These losers have been calling self propelled howitzers tanks as long as I can remember. They don't have a clue.
