Carville was also spotted meeting with Perot's advisors during that critical time period. If I may, I would like to join you in selling that bridge!

It amazes me the number of folks on here that keep saying that Perot did not have an affect on the 1992 election and his being in the race didn't give Clinton the win. Have always thought they voted for Perot because all the Republicans I know believe Perot was directly responsible!

It isn't widely known, but Perot was on Hillary Clinton's health care task force and was, in fact, slated to get the information processing piece of that pie if the legislation succeeded. There is no question whatsoever that what Perot did in '92 had everything to do with getting Clinton elected to suit his (Perot's) business purposes, and nothing whatsoever about anything else. He tepidly ran again in '96 more out of ego and the fact that he was still caught up in that monster of his own making, the "Reform" Party. By 2000, although nobody cared anymore, he endorsed George W. at a time when it looked like Dubya was going to win a big victory. Perot probably did so in the hope that Dubya would not seek any kind of regulatory or government-contract revenge on Perot's companies.
