Arnold Schwarzenegger Would Get 25% of the Vote If Californians Voted Today

California voters would remove Governor Gray Davis from office and replace him with Arnold Schwarzenegger by a 19 percentage-point margin if the election were held today, according to a TIME/CNN Poll.

Schwarzenegger leads Lt. Governor Cruz Bustamanate, his closest competitor, by a 25%-to-15% margin. Trailing were State Sen. Tom McClintock (9%), former candidate for governor Bill Simon (7%) and (tied with 4%) Hustler publisher Larry Flynt, columnist Arianna Huffington, and former Major League Baseball commissioner Peter Ueberroth, U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein beat Schwarzenegger to replace Davis, 22 percent to 20 percent, if she had been a candidate, according to to TIME/CNN survey.

But California voters are not convinced that the Austrian-born action hero is capable of governing the state: 45% think he is, but many (55%) think he isn't capable (39%) or are unsure (16%). Schwarzenegger is not perceived as falling into any ideological camp: more see him as "moderate" (40%) than either conservative (23%) or "liberal" (19%).

The TIME/CNN Poll, conducted Aug. 8, surveyed 508 registered California voters by telephone. The margin of error is +/- 4.3%.

Like a liberal, you insult...(liberal = moderate = more failure). GET THIS THRU YOUR SKULL, CALIFORNIA IS PROBABLY HEADED FOR ECONOMIC MELT DOWN...DEFAULT...THE 6TH LARGEST ECONOMY IN THE WORLD WILL DEFAULT ULESS SOMEONE WHO WILL ACTUALLY CUT, CUT, CUT, CUT, CUT GETS INTO OFFICE...AND BRILLIANT FOLK LIKE YOU, THINK IT WILL BE JUST FINE TO PUT A RHINO (DEMOCRAT-LITE) IN OFFICE TO GET THE FRICKIN BLAME WHEN IT HAPPENS...With political PHD's like YOU, the GOP is DOOMED, and so is the California economy, and the rest of the country when California goes into default, adn the enire GOP will get the Hoover-caused-the-depression-and-the-California-default albatross placed around its' neck....Arnold does NOT have the conservative core, or the uncompromising character to STAND in the GAP...He WON'T do it!!!! Arnold, John McCain, Snow and the lot a fine honest democrats.

Wrong.

No one will accuse the next Governor of creating the mess California is in.

Gray Davis owns this one.

It is a dream come true for the next person lucky enough to govern.

Like Clinton, who inherited the start of a recovery and made fools think he was the cause, the California recovery will concur with the greater American recovery already underway.

One year from now, the entire American economy will look better, and a few intelligent moves in California will actually help the entire country too.

Vote Arnold, and you'll even put more dough in your own pocket.

You are wrong, again....recent history has proven that it doens't matter who REALLY caused it, the last one in office gets the blame (that is why I mentioned HOOVER....Hoover got the blame).Do you know your history? Did Hoover CAUSE the depression? You are NOT thinking this through...you are just so happy that a republican, any republican (even if he is more democrat than republican) might get elected in California, that you are not understanding the consequences....Arnold will NOT do what must be done...he won't do it.

California, and the country needs a CONSERVATIVE in office that will do what must be done...granted, that ISN'T one running, but better the democrat get the blame since the RHINO won't do the job.

Even if the economy nationally improves, and it will, California is on the fast track for melt down....They have taxed industries to the point that they are FLEEING in record numbers ....What does Arnold say about this? He wants to get them back so taxes can be collected to fund social programs (Does that sound republican?)

The California Supreme Court has FORCED the state to give FREE medical care and FREE education to ILLEGALS...the state will DEFUALT if someone with GUTS doesn't put a stop to the maddness...the national / world economy cannot SAVE California...the maddness allowing eco-wackos and tax crazy liberals and moderates to run the state have placed the state and a sure collision course with default/

Making laws is the best way to prohibit a behavior. But have fun standing in front of abortion clinics waving your sign. Cause we all know how successful that's been.
Over 40 million Americans have been murdered in the womb since Roe. This is not something that can be brushed off with warm and fuzzy feelings.

I understand your passion and point, however there many religions and including main stream Liberal Christians/Jewish Reform denominations where abortion is O.K and not considered murder.....in the USA.

Forcing American Citzens whose religion does't condsider abortion as murder, will not pass the Constitution Muster.

Because for those people , it's a medical procedure and not murder...because for them fetus is not a child...........and their religions say so,

California is the 5th largest economy on the planet.

Just how do you expect the American economy to prosper in a meltdown scenario?

The fact is, the key to the Bush re-election is a GOP victory in California leading to change, action and optimism in the state's economic prospects.

Arnold is an inspiration, and Davis and the Socialists are a lead weight on the Bush presidency and GOP future.

Did you think there was another reason for the Clinton's support of the vile calamity-prone creep?
