RECALL SUPPORTERS ATTACKED IN SACRAMENTO
PROTEST AT TAXPAYER-FUNDED ANTI-RECALL WORKSHOP TURNS VIOLENT - DAVIS THUGS ATTACK RECALL SUPPORTERS
ATTACK CAUGHT BY FOX NEWS CHANNEL CREW
Charges To Be Filed as Recall Supporters Rushed to Emergency Room
(SACRAMENTO) Recall Gray Davis supporters were violently attacked a little more than one hour ago by Gray Davis supporters. Those who were assaulted have been taken to a local hospital emergency room in Sacramento.
A protest was underway against taxpayer-funded Workers Against the Recall workshops that were being led by a coalition of labor union organizations including the publicly-funded University of California Institute for Labor and Employment (UC ILE). The UC ILE received $4,000,000 of taxpayers money in the budget signed by Governor Davis one week ago (Saturday).
Protestors were across the street from the event marching peacefully when Davis supporters rushed across J Street in Downtown Sacramento and began beating recall supporters. Davis thugs also attempted to steal and destroy YES on RECALL signs from recall supporters.
Gray Davis anti-recall campaign continues to stoop to new levels. The use of taxpayer money to fight the peoples recall campaign is revolting. The use of violence and physical attacks against recall supporters is disgusting and reprehensible. We call on Governor Davis to save any last shred of decency he has and condemn the use of violence against innocent citizens, declared Recall Gray Davis spokesman, Joe Wierzbicki who was present at the protest.

See #54 - I just emailed comments@foxnews.com about their false banner. How can viewers "decide" when Fox is misrepresenting what happened?
Please flood their comments mail box. Takes two secs to freep them to get this false spin off their screen.

You think Fox would have cut the clip short if the "good stuff" happened after the portion that was aired?Maybe the "good stuff" ended before a camera began recording.

Maybe the "good stuff" ended before a camera began recording. Oh, lord. Will this stupid thread never end? The video begins with the goons crossing the street. You're posting stills, so you've got it. How could you posit a thing like that?

Even that lion (or panther or weasel whatever that is) on the back of those union goon shirts is in a fighting pose.

"I just saw the video on Fox.
Hospital? For what - a hangnail? That was nothing. Cease the overblown hyping, please. "
You saw 20 seconds of a 5 minute attack. I think getting punched, kicked, tackled, and beaten to the ground to the point of injury is pretty horrific. If you think that is hype, then maybe you can be at our next protest and take "the hits" for our people instead?
To: Hank Rearden
the whole point of this lame, stupid thread I'm with you on this.

heh heh... and I'll bet many of the thugs can't even READ the signs they are holding!!!
To: jla
I guess they left their Make Peace, Not War signs at home. ;^)You can take this to the bank . . . they must've out-numbered the recall troops at LEAST ten to one because libbers aren't famous for their courage and/or fair play.

I think getting punched, kicked, tackled, and beaten to the ground to the point of injuryThere is no evidence of that in the tape, and you didn't describe it that way in your original post.

Our people were beaten, punched, kicked, TACKLED TO THE GROUND for 5 minutes. You see one of the altercations. Our people were dispersed on one side of the street. There were about 20. Women were knocked to the ground. People were beaten furiously on the back as they were hunched over. People were punched repeatedly. You see 20 seconds of it. I think it's awful. Again, anyone thinking it's all flowers and candy PLEASE - we'd love for you to take the brunt of the assault next time for our people who are at the hospital.

Do you need the address for DU?

Unions did this?
They did the same thing a number of years back in Philly when Clinton was being impeached

Yes! I remember watching the Teamsters (who were drunk) attacking the peaceful Pro-Impeachment protestors.
To: AAABEST
I feel the same way. I would enjoy defending myself from an attack, while at the same time sending a few of the attakers to the hospital. Man!
