RECALL SUPPORTERS ATTACKED IN SACRAMENTO

PROTEST AT TAXPAYER-FUNDED ANTI-RECALL WORKSHOP TURNS VIOLENT - DAVIS THUGS ATTACK RECALL SUPPORTERS

ATTACK CAUGHT BY FOX NEWS CHANNEL CREW

Charges To Be Filed as Recall Supporters Rushed to Emergency Room

(SACRAMENTO) – Recall Gray Davis supporters were violently attacked a little more than one hour ago by Gray Davis supporters. Those who were assaulted have been taken to a local hospital emergency room in Sacramento.

A protest was underway against taxpayer-funded “Workers Against the Recall” workshops that were being led by a coalition of labor union organizations including the publicly-funded University of California Institute for Labor and Employment (UC ILE). The UC ILE received $4,000,000 of taxpayer’s money in the budget signed by Governor Davis one week ago (Saturday).

Protestors were across the street from the event marching peacefully when Davis supporters rushed across J Street in Downtown Sacramento and began beating recall supporters. Davis thugs also attempted to steal and destroy “YES on RECALL” signs from recall supporters.

“Gray Davis’ anti-recall campaign continues to stoop to new levels. The use of taxpayer money to fight the people’s recall campaign is revolting. The use of violence and physical attacks against recall supporters is disgusting and reprehensible. We call on Governor Davis to save any last shred of decency he has and condemn the use of violence against innocent citizens,” declared Recall Gray Davis spokesman, Joe Wierzbicki who was present at the protest.

I HAVE to pay my union dues, or else I DON'T WORK

I've just got a job that will force me to join a union too. There seems to very little info on the internet as to MY rights not to join...~sigh

PDN BEHIND THE SCENES....
If we can't be critical of our own, we lose credibility!

My FReeper FRiend Impeach98 has made the point that I was late to the scene.  I rolled from work as soon as I heard the radio call from Sacramento police dispatch.  I don't know which "wave" I saw as I tried to bail out of my truck but SPD was just rolling up and sent me packing in the process.

I've read each post in this thread and it begs more questions than answers.  I noted with interest that no one who was there has addressed the questions raised in the thread we posted to promote the protest in the first place:

SHOW OUR OUTRAGE OVER TAX FUNDED UNION THUG TRAINING!
Recall Gray Davis Committee ^ | August 8, 2003 | Howard Kaloogian via Dave Jenest

If the people who were injured step up to the plate you have this FReeper's pledge to support you. I suggest the some of the following:

Now I expect to get some grief for asking these questions by some of the arm chair warriors out there.  But Impeach98 will attest that me and other PDN members have always been there for them and protested side by side on many occasions.  Other FReepers also know, that at each event we host, our first contact, well before the protest, is with local police.  Just ask FReeper Duffy or Farmfriend how many times that has come in handy.  The first words from police supervisors I checked with on scene was "We didn't get any advance notice. Had we, we'd have been there for you guys."

In another forum I wrote this:

That said, B-II and I reviewed all the news clips and I tend to agree with the cops absent some better video or pictures.  It was a pushing and shoving match.  What we did notice was someone that looked like they were from our camp, bending over twice to scream in a little kids face who had a sign.  Had I seen that first hand that would have set me off no matter who's side the adult was on.

Perception is everything people... delivering the proof is another matter.

That brings me to the last issue... the one that the unions have successfully rebuttled in my humble opinion.  Yes, a removed webpage is suspicious but it's NOT PROOF. I've called it a smoking gun that demands investigation. No one has pushed harder for such an investigation than I.  Still, when our own people can't step forward with the evidence it doesn't produce the "Smoking Gun" nor warrant further protests where people are put in harm's way. Not answer direct e-mail questions and staging poorly planned protests without regard for their participant's safety is reprehensible in this activists opinion. I offer the my smoking gun below as evidence for all who would take offense to my position.

In a recent e-mail alert you wrote (in part):

Davis Supporters Use STATE FUNDS in Effort to Defeat Recall

"Breaking News folks. We've received information that the Institute for Labor and Employment was set to conduct anti-Recall Gray Davis media and communications workshops for union officials to fight the Davis recall. The budget passed by the California State Senate on July 27 includes $4 million to fund the Institute for Labor and Employment at the University of California. Now they are helping organize the labor community into a massive force to defeat the recall."

We've widely circulated this item before researching it ourselves. One of our members asked

What is the relationship between the "Institute for Labor and Employment"  (which is the organization receiving state funds) and the "State Building & Construction Trades Council of California" (which is the organization holding the Anti-Recall Seminars)?

I can't seem to find the link between the two - can you help?
The nexus isn't as clear as it needs to be.  You might consider a reply as well to the FreeRepublic news item I passed on:
State Funds Being Used to Fight Recall
Recall Gray Davis Committee mail list ^ | July 29, 2003 | Recall Davis Committee via comwatch

FYI - This last minute appeal to protest organizers remains unanswered

We didn't get much play on this original issue and email questions to the recall went unanswered David.  Please, in the future, try to get action items to us at least a couple days before the event.  I don't have a clue why conservatives in the Sacramento Area are so afraid of union thugs.  Suppose it's because there are so many who are employed or represented by them?  Davis belongs in federal prison with Lockier for a bunk mate.  Never will happen if people remain mute.

If you do not recognize what a phony Schwarzenkennedy is, you are probably beyond hope. I would tell you this: Schwarzenkennedy will not approach the 48.5% of the two-party vote achieved by Simon last year or the 49.5% of the two party vote which McClintock got. Schwarzenkennedy should get zero votes from people who are pro-life, pro-gun, anti-tax, anti-spend, those who despise gummint skewels and a variety of roups who are the backbone of the GOP. Such enthusiasm among the RINOs: Aaaaaaahnold polls 25%!!!!!! Mr. Robotic Electability polls half of what Simon got or half what McClintock got with everyone energized. Ohhhhh, hallelujah, we can see the Promised Land!

You guys are in for some sharp disappointment. But it would have been even worse if the younger RINO (younger than Riordan) were to be elected. You will never live this down. Whatever you do, stay anonymous. Your future will be happier that way.

RE: "Schwarzenkennedy will not approach the 48.5% of the two-party vote achieved by Simon last year.."

What makes the "two-party vote" of last year, anymore significant in an election decided by a plurality?

How is your argument any different than the bogus Demo's claim that Gore won in 2000 by getting more popular votes (when the 'rules' clearly state that the electoral college decides).

I was in Burbank attending NFRA/CRA conventions and I saw my friend David Pegos on FOX News looking all angry and the atmosphere was tense. FOX said that nobody got arrested, though. I need to read this whole thread to get caught up on what happened. GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"DP" is one of the most effective bullhorn-spokesmen in rallies that have ever seen. At the Sacramento rally in May, his chants were heard inside the theatre (during the ABC Newscast broadcast from there). Small wonder he was targeted by union goons.

Strange Fruits

Recall elections bear Strange Fruits,
(Issa at the ramparts; Arnie at grassroots),
DemoRat bodies swinging in the gentle breeze,
Strange Fruits hanging by popular decrees.

Pastoral Scene of the gallant fight,
The bulging eyes and twisted might,
Governor integrity, pander politics, all so fresh,
Then the sudden rise in taxes became enmeshed.

Here are the fruits for the pundits to pick,
For the reporters to gather, For the media to kick,
For sunshine to cure, For the myths to rot,
Here lies BustaDavis's Dems and their policies NOT.

The recall backers need to get a goon squad of their own, find out which union those thugs are with, and give them a little payback.

Too bad I'm out here. I'll be the first to volunteer. Wouldn't be the first time I got in a few union thug faces.

Why don't leftists ever get violent around me. I would love this.

Because you're not a woman, child, or old man. That's why.

They didn't swing at me either.
