Charges To Be Filed as Recall Supporters Rushed to Emergency Room

(SACRAMENTO) – Recall Gray Davis supporters were violently attacked a little more than one hour ago by Gray Davis supporters. Those who were assaulted have been taken to a local hospital emergency room in Sacramento.

A protest was underway against taxpayer-funded “Workers Against the Recall” workshops that were being led by a coalition of labor union organizations including the publicly-funded University of California Institute for Labor and Employment (UC ILE). The UC ILE received $4,000,000 of taxpayer’s money in the budget signed by Governor Davis one week ago (Saturday).

Protestors were across the street from the event marching peacefully when Davis supporters rushed across J Street in Downtown Sacramento and began beating recall supporters. Davis thugs also attempted to steal and destroy “YES on RECALL” signs from recall supporters.

“Gray Davis’ anti-recall campaign continues to stoop to new levels. The use of taxpayer money to fight the people’s recall campaign is revolting. The use of violence and physical attacks against recall supporters is disgusting and reprehensible. We call on Governor Davis to save any last shred of decency he has and condemn the use of violence against innocent citizens,” declared Recall Gray Davis spokesman, Joe Wierzbicki who was present at the protest.

In Florida, there were lots of verbal attacks but it didn't especially rise to the level of physical attacks. Oh, it got loud but except for a few dem precinct workers acting like babies, everybody behaved fairly well.

What I remember is Shep Smith accidentally driving into another reporter & everyone wanted their signage or their mug on tv. We do not know the ways of Californian leftists.

Fox said that using taxpayer's money for the workshop was illegal. What else is new? This makes Davis look like the godfather. It will make it easier for Californians to think ill of him and his hard core yellow dog dems. From what I saw, it looked like they attacked the women first or also.

I just saw the video. With all due respect, it looks like absolutely nothing to me. Looks like 10 seconds of pushing and shoving. Hardly an attack, and I can't imagine how anyone was injured, except if maybe someone got the corner of a sign in his eye. I appreciate your efforts in this issue, but c'mon now.

Freeper Comwatch came after the bouts of violence. I know he was there and commented on another thread about hearing the police discuss it AFTER the fact. There were 4 waves of attack. I believe what Fox News aired was the 1st wave. During the attack I was 20 feet down the sidewalk with another pro-recall person giving a live interview to KFBK News Talk 1530 AM - Sacramento #1 radio station. We were supposed to be discussing the taxpayer funding of the anti-recall effort (which is what we were upset with and why we were out protesting). During this interview the shouting Gray Davis thugs began to rush over. What you see on the footage thus far aired by Fox News Channel is one of the waves of people coming across the street. At this point our people have dispersed and you see one portion of our group under assault.
