RECALL SUPPORTERS ATTACKED IN SACRAMENTO
PROTEST AT TAXPAYER-FUNDED ANTI-RECALL WORKSHOP TURNS VIOLENT - DAVIS THUGS ATTACK RECALL SUPPORTERS
ATTACK CAUGHT BY FOX NEWS CHANNEL CREW
Charges To Be Filed as Recall Supporters Rushed to Emergency Room
(SACRAMENTO) Recall Gray Davis supporters were violently attacked a little more than one hour ago by Gray Davis supporters. Those who were assaulted have been taken to a local hospital emergency room in Sacramento.
A protest was underway against taxpayer-funded Workers Against the Recall workshops that were being led by a coalition of labor union organizations including the publicly-funded University of California Institute for Labor and Employment (UC ILE). The UC ILE received $4,000,000 of taxpayers money in the budget signed by Governor Davis one week ago (Saturday).
Protestors were across the street from the event marching peacefully when Davis supporters rushed across J Street in Downtown Sacramento and began beating recall supporters. Davis thugs also attempted to steal and destroy YES on RECALL signs from recall supporters.
Gray Davis anti-recall campaign continues to stoop to new levels. The use of taxpayer money to fight the peoples recall campaign is revolting. The use of violence and physical attacks against recall supporters is disgusting and reprehensible. We call on Governor Davis to save any last shred of decency he has and condemn the use of violence against innocent citizens, declared Recall Gray Davis spokesman, Joe Wierzbicki who was present at the protest.

In Florida, there were lots of verbal attacks but it didn't especially rise to the level of physical attacks. Oh, it got loud but except for a few dem precinct workers acting like babies, everybody behaved fairly well.
What I remember is Shep Smith accidentally driving into another reporter & everyone wanted their signage or their mug on tv. We do not know the ways of Californian leftists.

Fox said that using taxpayer's money for the workshop was illegal. What else is new? This makes Davis look like the godfather. It will make it easier for Californians to think ill of him and his hard core yellow dog dems. From what I saw, it looked like they attacked the women first or also.

caught on tape???
I hope nobody was seriously injured, but, on the other hand... catching the thugs literally red-handed could be useful politically and socially.

Brings to mind the disco hit "Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting".
They have no shame and probably have some gang members in their workshop. Florida's gangs don't measure up to CA's.

Well, well, well...
The following are from the Local 38 website:
http://www.ualocal38.org/ "Tax Dollars are Not Being Used
Right-wing, pro-recall forces have tried to say that the Institute for Labor and Employment (ILE) is giving funds and support to the anti-recall effort, which is a lie. The ILE has not contributed any funds or support to the anti-recall effort, and no public tax funds are being used for that effort. The only tax dollars being used is the $35 million being wasted for an unnecessary recall election!
The State Building and Construction Trades Council, California unions and other organizations are supplying funds and support against the recall because this recall is destructive and stupid for California!"
###
Also, from the Sky Is Falling File:
"What If....?June 16, 2003
WHAT IF the opposition to Governor Gray Davis gets the signatures they need to put a recall on the ballot?
WHAT IF the day before the recall Governor Davis decides to resign from office?
WHAT IF based on the California Constitution Cruz Bustamante immediately becomes Governor?
WHAT IF all the money that has been raised for the recall was totally wasted?
WHAT IF all the money spent by Republican candidates to beat Davis - who lost to him last year - was just money down a rat hole?"
###
"What's At Stake? June 18, 2003
The Recall: What's At Stake
The toughest prevailing wage law in the nation
The 8-hour day
Daily overtime and expanded sick leave
Project Labor Agreements
Labor Compliance Programs for bond-financed school construction
Increased Unemployment benefits
Increased Workers' Compensation benefits
Tough apprenticeship standards that protect union programs
Increased enforcement of labor laws
The defeat of Prop 226 in 1998
The appointment of over 100 union members to important state boards and commissions
The creation of over 900,000 new jobs in the last four years
These victories for organized labor and the construction trades didn't happen by chance. After 16 years of Republican rule in the California Capitol, unions fought hard to regain these critical rights - all with the active support and cooperation of Governor Gray Davis.
If the recall succeeds in pushing Governor Davis out of office, all of these gains are in jeopardy. If right-wing Republicans like Congressman Darrel Issa hoodwink the voters into electing him as Governor, all of these gains will disappear.
Darrel Issa and his kind have pledged to overturn every one of the hard-fought gains if they are allowed to sneak into the Governor's office.
Unions defeated Bill Simon last year. Now we have to fight again.
Fight the recall. Don't sign recall petitions and make sure that your brothers, sisters and neighbors understand what's really at stake in this recall. This recall isn't about Gray Davis…it's about your paycheck and rights as a working person in California. Don't let the recall fool voters.
Fight back as though your job depends on defeating the recall - Because it does!"

I sent this thread to Fox. Is that their web site or sarcasm about beating the crap out of people? Please advise.
I'd like Brian Kilmeade to cover this on Fox & Friends Monday morning, wouldn't you?
