Charges To Be Filed as Recall Supporters Rushed to Emergency Room

(SACRAMENTO) – Recall Gray Davis supporters were violently attacked a little more than one hour ago by Gray Davis supporters. Those who were assaulted have been taken to a local hospital emergency room in Sacramento.

A protest was underway against taxpayer-funded “Workers Against the Recall” workshops that were being led by a coalition of labor union organizations including the publicly-funded University of California Institute for Labor and Employment (UC ILE). The UC ILE received $4,000,000 of taxpayer’s money in the budget signed by Governor Davis one week ago (Saturday).

Protestors were across the street from the event marching peacefully when Davis supporters rushed across J Street in Downtown Sacramento and began beating recall supporters. Davis thugs also attempted to steal and destroy “YES on RECALL” signs from recall supporters.

“Gray Davis’ anti-recall campaign continues to stoop to new levels. The use of taxpayer money to fight the people’s recall campaign is revolting. The use of violence and physical attacks against recall supporters is disgusting and reprehensible. We call on Governor Davis to save any last shred of decency he has and condemn the use of violence against innocent citizens,” declared Recall Gray Davis spokesman, Joe Wierzbicki who was present at the protest.

You can call Fox News' Claudia Cowan and ask for all the footage they got (they had a cameraman, no reporter, so what they have I don't know). I think it is pretty petty to armchair quarterback how severely injured our people are for voicing their opinions about taxpayer funding for the recall.

The unions own Gray Davis. California Correctional Peace Officers Association was recently granted 38% contractual raise due to political contibutions to his campaign. They can't collect because of this recall effort. I wonder if public employee unions are involved in this violence..

You were not specific about the altercation, nor did you specify any injuries. I would think that if Fox had more dramatic video, they would have shown it.

I am not saying it didn't happen, I am just saying that we were never given any details as to the severity of the incident until some of us started to question it.

All you had to do was report all the facts, with specific information of the injuries.

Yep! FOX has already shown it several times - along with Issa saying that these people are union people being paid with illegal taxpayer funds to fight the recall. Powerful!

Also - what FOX got on camera was the UNION PEOPLE ATTACKING THE RECALL PEOPLE AND THE UNION PEOPLE TRYING TO WRESTLE AWAY THEIR SIGNS.

It's very easy to distinguish the people in the video - all the UNION people are wearing BLACK SHIRTS and RECALL people are wearing WHITE SHIRTS.

Yes, I caught it at 1 PM. You can't see too much, but there are obviously, at minimum, a couple of union thugs trying to physically rough up a pro-recall person and take his sign.

Union thugs can only achieve their goals through force and/or fraud.
