A court in Rabat has sentenced three Moroccans to lengthy prison sentences after they were found guilty of terrorist offences. The three men were given sentences ranging from 7 to 20 years for a number of crimes, including co-ordinating terrorist attacks. A fourth accused, a Frenchman, was acquitted. He had been charged with failing to inform the authorities of a terrorist plot.
The three Moroccans were arrested in connection with the bombings last May in Casablanca, but they were actually charged with unrelated terrorist activities. Moroccan police arrested hundreds of militant Muslims following the attacks in Casablanca, in which 44 people were killed.
