Once again, a blogger -- and US servicemember in Baghdad -- brings us the truth. Read this and ask yourself how anyone could have opposed the liberation of the Iraqi people.

An
Operation Expanding Freepdom blogging ping (discovered via the mighty

Chief Wiggles, a US servicemember in Baghdad, uses his blog to correct what the media is getting wrong and to tell us about the real situation on the ground. Well worth a read.

Love this comment about the War on Terror and the Battle of Iraq posted on the site. It's by a San Francisco liberal:
"Chief, thanks for the continued updates. I am by most standards a left-wing flake from the San Francisco Bay Area, and from that perspective, let me tell you this: the effort that you are ably assisting in is, to my mind, the noblest, most righteous undertaking the United States military has committed itself to since our grandfathers stormed the beaches in Normandy. You are in the epicenter of the ongoing battle against fascism: against the theocratic Al Qaeda and their Islamist allies, on the one hand, and the Baathist national socialists, on the other, both united in their hatred for democracy, pluralism, America, and (as always) Jews. I wish more of my fellow lefties would get past their somewhat understandable opposition to the Bush Administration and grasp this far more essential conflict. But do not ever let their species of myopia or outright appeasement ever swerve you from the righteousness of your cause. History will remember you as being in the vanguard of freedom in the Middle East, and I am humbled, grateful, and proud-- fiercely proud-- of the efforts you and your fellow soldiers are making there. Bless you all, and get home safe to us as soon as possible."

Thanks for posting this! We need more of this and articles like Ragtime Cowgirl is posting of the positives coming out of Iraq.
The liberal media has determined that they will take the negative route but we all need to emphasize the positives and blogs like this as well as DoD and other military news reports can help spread the word.
Freepers need to start writing letters to the editor of papers and calling talk shows to ask why the positive news from Iraq seems to be embargoed.

"Just like when Saddam's two sons were killed there was celebration in the streets, people firing weapons into the air in jubilation, unaware that when those bullets came back down 50 people would be killed inadvertently. Freedom has a price and limitations, to insure that others are not affected by the freedom of one. Freedom requires a certain level of understanding, empathy, consideration and restraint. Laws actually go hand in hand with freedom, to insure the rights of all." This reminds me of an interesting thought I have had. I understand that Iraq is working on a new "Constitution" for their country.
Won't it be interesting to see the leftists reaction if the Iraqi's incorporate some sort of 2nd Amendment equivalent!
And even more interesting, the right wing America's reaction if it is practiced and preached with much more fervor than our own here in America!

But then it's probably just a romantic notion. Probably the new government will ban and confiscate all civilian weapons on the first day of existance!

Thank you for the ping and the post. Bless the good Chief.
Wanted to tell you I finally put together the numbers from CENTCOM and they prove what we've been telling others all along - our troops are doing amazing work with very few casualties. The worst month - July - the revenge of the Ba'athists after the death of the Hussein boys - we lost 39 troops all month, 11 to non-hostile acts - across the whole country, with 150,000 troops on the ground.
My e-mail subject line today:
Quagmire? Nonsense. Give our troops 2 parades - one for putting up with the press.

Isn't it sickening that liberal media has sunk so low? I still cannot believe it! Sickening but not surprising....just look at who controls the lamestream media....except for FOX.....all liberals who aid & abet the Dims. They wanted Iraq to be a 'quagmire'; they don't want the economy to improve & they definitely don't want Americans to continue to support GWB.

Every day people come to our office to inform us of activities in their community that are illegal or pro-Saddam or are against the coalition forces. We dispatch a team to conduct a raid on the location to take down the bad people. We do this almost every night. It is happening, one raid at a time, one good act of kindness at a time, one honest deed, one kind gesture, it is catching on and the wave is building. It is going to happen. Bumping for the the Chief.

I too was amazed by that. I know it's dangerous to shoot guns skyward in celebration, but the idea that 50 people would die from the falling bullets is hard to credit. I'm sure the falling bullets would be a real danger but they would have greatly reduced velocity wouldn't they? I hope that was an exaggeration.
I enjoyed the report though.

He does not explain how ill-trained the US military is and how sloppy they are on operations and daily patrols. Hard to swallow that truth as that info comes from a US Spec Ops Team member.
