Tancredo I heard is considering a run for the Senate, which could be a steppingstone to the presidency. I think you mean the vice-presidency. Governors become Presidents.

It's rare that Senators win, Bob Dole was the last nominee from there, but it is possible. If Tancredo goes for it, he's got my vote.
