To be fair, they don't really have anything good to call it. The end of the war? Kind of, maybe, but fighting still continued and continues in varying degrees. Or is Iraq more of a battle in the larger war on terror? There's been nothing like VE or VJ day, but I think those are more the exception than the rule anyway.

But I agree that the phrasing and juxtaposition they chose in a murky situation is one that plays to liberal arguments.

Frankly, I've been absolutely stunned by the low level of US casualties in this war. Though even one American is too many to lose, I honestly expected at least hundreds and more likely thousands to be killed in the Iraqi assault alone. The fact that that didn't happen is what amazes me.

What amazes me is we took down Iraq with 2 Heavy Divisions more or less with so few combat deaths.
