Tell ya what, when I'm back in NY in 2005

Tell ya what, when you get back to NY, say hi to Gray Davis, cause that's where he is headed, back where he came from.

Hate to tell you, but we never experienced one singly power failure here in Cal in the past 25 years.

Really? Not even on August 10, 1996?1, 2

Sorry to disappoint you. Hehehe

I'm not disappointed for you, just think you have cognitive or memory lapses. But then, hey, it's all good, dude. Send Grayout my way, it will raise the rest of the country's opinion of your state significantly.

... Arnold actually went to college, received a master's and ran successful businesses...

Not a Masters, just a B.A. through a correspondence program. Schwarzenegger is a succesful landowner, but I've never heard of him running any businesses (he owns, but doesn't manage, an Austrian restaurant).

Education:
University of Wisconsin, Superior, Wisconsin; (B.A., Business and Economics, 1980)

But now I have a question for all the conservatives, in California and across the nation, who believe Schwarzenegger will make a fine candidate: If you think this actor's views should be taken seriously, then you must agree that the opinions of Sean Penn, George Clooney, Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon should be heard and respected as well, right? Because if your answer is "no," that would mean you want to hear only from those Hollywood figures whose opinions agree with yours--which sounds rather un-American to me.

?

Somehow it's hypocritical to criticize some opinions and not others? I don't get it. Of course, this guy is just trying to be a smirking jerk, he isn't interested in making a real logical point--the fact that it's illogical is deliberately designed to annoy us that much more.

I don't know where you got the mail order stuff, but I found this on his Yahoo biography page. He made a fortune in mail order fitness equipment.

Schwarzenegger was, in fact, a highly motivated and intelligent young man. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in business and economics, he invested his contest earnings in real estate and a mail-order bodybuilding equipment company.

Schwarzenegger has also received several honorary degrees in recent years. His alma mater, the University of Wisconsin, presented him with the Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters in 1979; Imadec University in Vienna bestowed an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration for his Life Achievements in 2001 and in 2002; Chapman University presented him with a Doctorate of Humane Letters for his work with Special Olympics as well as Inner City Games.*

Run, Arnold, Run

Your right, I'd forgotten. He did run the mail order business. That must have been where he earned to money to go into real estate.

I've closed the bio pages I found, but the U of W degree was definitely through the mail. Since he was running a mail order business, why not get a mail order business degree?

Tom is exactly what CA needs, but you will get Arnold.

Let's say we compromise and elect Tom Arnold.

I think he's a rat. He's married to the daugter of some former Iowa Congressman or something. He did say he might be interesed in running for something someday.

Ironically he was in "True Lies" with Arnie.
