Tom McClintock for Governor -- Steamroll the RINOs (The Ping Starts Here)
Vanity | 08/06/2003 | Self

Posted on 08/06/2003 10:58:20 PM PDT by Jay D. Dyson

With the announcement of Arnold Schwarzenegger's run for the governor's office on the Republican ticket, now is the time for conservatives to stand up for the principles that have made the GOP grand.

No longer can we afford appeasement and principle-defeating compromise in our efforts to remedy the problems wrought by the Left's handling of this state's affairs.

Now is NOT the time for "Davis Lite"! Now is the time to support a genuine Conservative for governor!

Yes, many argue that we should support a RINO for governor; often bolstering this claim by insisting that a RINO in the governor's office will somehow magically transform California voters (who supposedly won't vote for a conservative governor) into voters who would somehow vote for a conservative President. Suffice it to say that such fantastic claims fly in the face of reason.

People, the Left's leadership is on the ropes. Now is not the time to bend to the will of the losing side! We have created a rare opportunity to bring real change to the State of California. Let's not squander it on a RINO candidate!

With that, I'm looking to start a McClintock Ping List and Live Thread to make sure that McClintock's platform and plan are known to all conservatives in the State of California.

Yes, this is what California needs: about half a dozen Republicans running against lone Democrat Bustamente in a 7-way race! What a time to show our principles!

Can you find a candidate that has a chance of winning and get back to us?

No that is not how I vote.

But this is how we will win.

I like McClintock fine from what I know about him Yet nothing about him or anyone stands out over the rest.

Issa deserves to be the lone Republican to be on the ballot and supported, but that is not happening.

As such, we need to determine who can win and close ranks around him -- be it McClintock, Schwarzenegger, or Issa or whomever.

The goal is to not let a dem take this.

It is premature to decide on who to rally around today, but a decision must be made soon. If not the dems will again pull it out.
