Let's put it this way -- the judge made Kobe appear in Court today in front of a media circus when attorneys not connected to the case said it was unusual and there was no need for him to attend! A judge shouldn't concern himself with the media. This is a small town, not LA, so what Napolitano says probably doesn't mean much. Small towns frown on crime a lot more than LA does.
That speaks volumes!
Yes it does. It means that this court will do it's job whether the media likes it or not. Napolitano and the media isn't running this trial, this court is, and they're going to do it way they would do it for a local it appears so far.
The DA and the defense attorneys said that he didn't have to be there and the Judge said he did. If wanted to just hear the case, then he would have closed the courtroom to TV cameras instead of allowing them in to keep the camera on him!
