Didn't Lot's wife turn into a pillar or salt or something similar? I don't have a Bible handy here.
How hard would it be to make such a pillar and sculpt it into the form of a woman looking over her shoulder?

The vote by the House of Bishops had been postponed Monday following the 11th-hour allegations that Robinson had engaged in inappropriate touching with another man at a church event. An investigation was quickly launched into that charge, as well as one revolving around whether a website belonging to an organization Robinson founded for homosexual Episcopalian youth also contained a link to Internet pornography. They dither about whether "Robinson had engaged in inappropriate touching with another man" when they already KNOW Robinson and his partner are engaging in oral and anal sodomy, fisting, rimming, etc.?
They dither about a link to porn when Robinson is running a chickenhawk website for recruiting Episcopalian youth into the homosexual lifestyle?
Do these people have any idea what a JOKE they are? How could anyone take them seriously about anything?

But, but, they're progressive, dontcha know? God will place Ichabod on the doors of their churches and turn his back on them. Then they can have their little unions and bless whoever they want but without God's blessing. Not a good place to be.

I saw that, too, and was sick over the way they defend this man and defecate on scripture.

Oh, did you hear on Fox and Friends this morning when Brian laughingly said homosexuality was the HOT thing now? E.D. at least put her head but the older guy (what's his name - don't like him anyway) was laughing and encouraging Brian to continue. I was not pleased with Brian at all.

Ours was a Baptist church until about 20 years ago when an Elim pastor took over. We're still in the Baptist convention and have actually done some good there as far as worship goes. But we're essentially a non-denominational, spirit filled congregation. It's a great place to be on Sunday morning. We have no hierarchy to bow down to who makes decisions for us. We make our own with the counsel of God and four good praying pastors. I would never go back to a denominational church again, having been a Methodist for much of my life and an Episcopalian as a child. I'm sad for that church.

You're absolutely right. And fornicators of either sex cannot get into the Kingdom of God. Guess they didn't read that one.

That's right, DreamWeaver. There is a storm on the horizon and only those Christians who hunker down close to God will survive and be a beacon of light in that darkness.

How hard would it be to make such a pillar and sculpt it into the form of a woman looking over her shoulder? Great Idea!! Get them made of plastic realistically painted to look like salt and you can leave them on the church's front yard (somewhat like those pink plastic flamingos). Show her dressed in Sunday clothes and carrying a bible but with fear on her face. Running from the church but looking back.
I wish I knew more about injection molding. This seems to be a growth industry coming up

Miss Marple, as always you have hit the nail on the old proverbial head! Thanks for your clarity on the subject. I was a Methodist for 30 years and loved my church, but I never really heard about salvation there. I had to go to a Baptist Church to learn that.

A very good point. The Lutheran Church properties are owned by the local congregations. I think the queers are going after the ELCA because they see a vulnerability in the liberal and oh-so sophisticated elite.
I predict that the more conservative, main-stream Lutherans from the old American Lutheran Church will split away if the queer agenda is recognized, leaving the LCA folks stuck with the queers.
As an afterthought, I for one will not use the term "gay" in reference to the queers. I do not consider them or their lifestyle as "gay".

"I was thinking of taking vengeance on an "Episcopal Church Welcomes You" sign last night. "
Are you a member of an Episcopal church? If not, what makes you think you should have a voice in that church's decision about anything?

"I don't particularly like giving out personal information online, especially when asked, but I think all Christians have the right and responsibility to disassociate themselves from the Episcopal Church in a public manner, and to warn others of the perils of that group's false teachings.
"
OK, that's fine, but churches of all kinds make all sorts of decisions. Some you like; some you don't. Isn't it up to the individual denomination to make such decisions, for better or worse? Is it for non-members of such a denomination to decide? I don't think so.
So, go to your church and abide by its rules, but leave other churches to make their own.
