SAN DIEGO (AP) - Marine Corps fighter pilots and commanders say they dropped firebombs similar to napalm on Iraqi troops earlier this year, according to a report published Tuesday. The Marines say that in March, U.S. warplanes dropped dozens of incendiary bombs near bridges over the Saddam Canal and the Tigris River in central Iraq to clear the way for troops headed to Baghdad.

Total destruction of the enemy. Whatever it takes... Killed the enemy soldiers, left the bridges intact. Sounds like it was the best tactical choice for those situations. But you know our left-wingnut friends, anything that even remotely reminds them of Vietnam drives them nuts.

Musil described the Pentagon's distinction between napalm and Mark 77 firebombs as "pretty outrageous."
Gee, since one is napalm and the other isn't, I think it's pretty reasonable to draw a distinction between them. Oh, wait, there I go being again, discriminating against firebombs and offending the sensibilities of incindiaries again. I better stop before the left labels me as one of their never-ending "-ist" words.

I do believe left and right will agree :
Napalm on combatants - OK ; on civilians - Not OK
