Ain't it interesting how only the GOP Presidents seem to be concerned with and courteous to "the little people"...??? My thoughts exactly, Okie. In all honesty, I have heard that Eisenhower was an absolute p***k to the "help" and I'm guessing that JFK and LBJ were not like carter and clinton, but from Nixon on, this trend seems to be intact. Main point being that carter and clinton are world class phonies - no real surprise there.

only the GOP Presidents seem to be concerned with and courteous to "the little people"...??? I've wondered about that, in more general terms. John Lennon sang "give poeace a chance" but beat his first wife. Ditto Jackson Browne and Darryl Hannah. Why is it that so many of these lefties seem to love "humanity" in the abstract, but are mean to the people around them?

I'm not overly concerned about a representative investing in one very expensive suit, but a closet-full would definitely be a problem.

"If people turn to look at you on the street, you are not well dressed." -- Beau BrummelI admit, I hadn't thought much one way or the other about the President's clothes till I say this article. To the extent that it crossed my mind, it was something like "gee, he has a lot of navy blue suits." But of course, that's the point. Anything less than perfection would be distracting. If you're the Prez, you want people to listen to your words, and not focus on what you're wearing.
Good job by Mr. de Paris. He earns an exemption from French-bashing.

Ain't it interesting how only the GOP Presidents seem to be concerned with and courteous to "the little people"...??? People with new money, or political power but no money, have a chip on their shoulders. At their core they are insecure and feel like imposters. They think the way to fit in with the "rich" is to behave like the bastard child of Leona Helmsley and a 19th century robber baron, berating and insulting the help.
Little do they know that the mark of good breeding and comfort with one's station in life is to treat everyone you meet with respect. The Bush family knows this by instinct, and both father and son are renowned for their concern for the people who work for them.
I am teaching my children to greet even the lowliest of people by name, shake their hands and look them in the eye, listen to them when they speak, and inquire about their families and personal well-being. God forbid they should grow up to treat their employees like Hillary Clinton or other nasty white trash.

>> He does great work, those suits our president wears are perfect.
Agreed, put the POTUS has a great physique for a male model. Unlike the dumpy-boy.

"He worked and slept there for the next 18 years while his business grew, thanks to word of mouth from satisfied customers. One of them was the late Rep. Otto Passman (D-La.), who introduced him to then-Vice President Johnson shortly before President Kennedy was assassinated in November 1963. I altered suits for him when he was vice president and made two suits for him after he became president, de Paris said."
COULD THIS TAILOR'S ADMISSION BE THE THREAD THAT FINALLY UNRAVELS THE FABRIC OF MOTIVES AND CONNECTIONS BEHIND THE KENNEDY ASSASSINATIONS?

Thanks for the post. Interesting and not dated unless this guy has left the White House position since then.If you mean the tailor, he is a private tailor, anyone can go and get suits made by him, he does not work for the white house.

"Why is it that so many of these lefties seem to love "humanity" in the abstract, but are mean to the people around them?" An example from my own experience. In my first job out of college, back in the sixties, my boss spent his vacation as a Freedom Rider. I couldn't help but be impressed by his personal commitment to civil rights.
But, when he came back into the office after the Christmas holidays, he was livid. He asked, "Guess who the landlord let move into the apartment next door?" Answering his own question, "A G__ D___ N____r!", he exclaimed.
The essence of liberalism: patronize "inferior" groups in general, disdain the individual members of these groups indiscriminately.
It isn't about "other people". It's all about themselves...
This was an object lesson that helped make me a Goldwater supporter.

Im shocked that clinton did not fire the white house tailor staff and bring in all his flunkies Ala the travel office.I don't think there is a white house tailor staff. This guy is a private tailor, who has a lot of political clients. He is not a government employee.

Nixon told a story about a dinner he attended where Bobby Kennedy actually threw a plate of food at the help. Poor Dick. He couldn't understand why he was so villified while the Kennedy sleaze was worshipped.

Yup.
You'll notice George W's hair does not change color every day like someone's did.
Amazing how Slick's hair suddenly turned white when he left office.

But Nixon was a criminal!
I know this because he had a five-o-clock shadow and was not handsome like JFK.
