First Poor Algore; Now FReeper Katherine Prudhomme Gets in Dean's Face --- Who is Next?
my FReepmail | Aug. 4, 2003 | Katherine Prudhomme

Posted on 08/04/2003 4:38:54 PM PDT by doug from upland

Katherine Prudhomme, who became national news when she questioned candidate Al Gore about Bill Clinton's rape of Juanita Broaddrick, is at it again. This time the FReeper took on Howard Dean at a speaking event. Here is her FReepmail to me -----

Re: dean event
From KPfromDerryNH | 08/02/2003 7:35 PM PDT replied

I met Howard Dean today at the American Legion Hall in Salem, New Hampshire. I asked him about parental notification laws for minors.

I asked him about the 12 year old girl he had as a patient. She was pregnant and he thought that the girl's father was the person who caused her pregnancy. I asked if the father was ever convicted of the assault or was she pregnant by a boyfriend. He didn't want to say...then he changed his mind and said no, in that case it ended up that her father was not the rapist.

"More often that not, these pregnancies in minors are caused by a boyfriend then, right?" I asked.

"So isnt it true that parental notification laws protect girls from statutory rapists? And laws against parental notification provide cover for statutory rapists?"

"If girls are allowed to get abortions with no need to inform their parents, why can't they decide to be sexally active at 12 with a man of any age? If you support a girl's ability to make the mature decision to get an abortion without telling her parents, do you also think statutory rape laws should be repealed?" He didn't seem to get the connection and told me that most girls want to tell their parents if they are pregnant. Come on,Dr. Dean. I thought people who made it through medical school could think more logically than that.

I told him about the Connecticut FOX affiliate news report aired last month where a young female called Planned Parenthood Clinics and said she was 13 and pregnant by her 22 year old boyfriend. Many times at different locations the young female was told not to tell them that, that's too much information and sure, he can drive you here but don't talk about your age or his age.

Dean laughed and said that nobody believes FOX News anyway..

Then he said statutory rape laws should stay on the books. He also said he knows all about this stuff because he's a doctor and so on and so forth.

Yeah, well I used to be a teenage girl. I used to spend a lot of time hanging out in the girls' room listening to all the real life stories of my classmates. I even went with one girl to Planned Parenthood in Boston because she was scared to go alone and didn't have anyone else to help her. That surprised me because she seemed to have a nice family, parents married, Mom at home, Dad an Episcopalian minister. She just didn't want the hassle of having her parents mad at her.

Dean doesn't want to touch this issue because any restriction on abortion is attacked by feminists.

Dean and his feminist supporters should realize that enforcing laws against statutory rape protects young girls. But he is willing to sacrifice them for votes from women who pretend they care about other women.

He can't alienate too many more potential constituencies than he already has. This is a no brainer for Dean. Without the pro-Choice vote he's toast. He can't possibly win nomination on the homosexual vote alone.

"So isnt it true that parental notification laws protect girls from statutory rapists? And laws against parental notification provide cover for statutory rapists?"

That is one of the finest logical extrapolations of ignorant unthinking liberal policies that I have heard in a while! And she turned his own argument against him and hit him right over the head with it!! You go girl!!! That is beautiful!!

I just love the pompous "Well, I'm a doctor etc." response. By his estimation, because YOU aren't a doctor, you are not worthy of an opinion on this topic. Talk about your pompous asses!!

You would think he was related to the Kennedys!!

But, doesn't Dean double talk like this allow us to claim that his true position is detailed in his secret state papers? Can't we say, for example, "Dean To Outlaw Abortion, If Elected" and then suggest that proof of his true views are in the papers we can't examine?

There is nothing he can say that we can't say conflicts with an earlier position/statement. And, should the guy ever get up and running, use this against him as vigorously as Brazzile or MaAuliffe would use a Republican governor's refusal to allow public review of public records, against him.

My view, of course, is that Dean is just the straw man for the Clinton, Gore interests that will take over at a later time. Dean will wipe out some of the others who might have had some clout, Head Gephardt, for example. LIEberman is another.

Dean will draw the whole group to the ultra-left and then Gore will ride in as a centrist to save them. Hillie and Willie will support PanderAl, who will lose. And, then Hillie will own the party by 2008.

Dean's about as deep as a kiddie pool.

Nobody believes Fox News? True, nobody on the left believes facts, just fantasies.

He's more then got the pro-abortion vote locked up. He did some kind of work or residency for planned parenthood, though he denies (and there is no way to verify if he is lying or not) that he ever performed abortions himself.

Somone correct me if I am wrong, but isn't vermont the only state in the union where nurses are legally allowed to perform abortions?

I'd love to see Charles Krauthammer ask him the question, and see him try the "Well I'm a doctor..." bs. Charles: "Well, so am I Howard"

Dean obviously missed the FOX news poll that shows abortion is not a HUGE issue anymore. No small wonder he "mocks" FOX news.

The MAINSTREAM the libs love to claim support from, no longer marches in baby killing lock step with the RAT party.

As you said, way to go Kath.

It may not be a big issue in the country as a whole but it's a HUGH and SERIES issue among the loony left -- and he has to get nominated!

Prudhomme and Coulter should team up and get a show on TV where all they do is interview Dumbocrats and expose them for the P'sOS that they are.

Unfortunately, after two or three (stupidly)brave pols got toasted ... viewership would fall because no one would accept an invitation.

Show would be cancelled and ... so it goes.

Having watched the meteoric career of Howard Dean, aka (my title) The Little Corporal, another of Vermont's Permanent Politicians since 1982 I have concluded that he is more of a flash-in-the-pan.

I hope he gets the Dem nomination. That may force him to open his ten year secret files.

BTW...don't MDs have to get accredited regularly? Anyone know if he is still entitled to MD it?

Hey, Doug....how about a Dean parody....something like "Howie Dean, The King of the Queens."

Dean is so out of touch with America that he probably believes this.

Please God, let there be Dean. No, I take that back, I don't want to use the Lord's name in vain.

I'll just support him any way I can. Let the left eat their yellowcake. They deserve it.

Email that idea to Fox News, they wouldn't cancel it, the ratings would be HUGH.

Thanks, doug, this is dynamite stuff. Once again, Katherine Prudhomme has shown all the rest of us how to do it. We appreciate her courage.

See how he tried to deflect this? First he laughed, and hoped to make the question and the citizen look silly. Then he tried to brush off the question altogether by claiming that the source of the information was faulty. Then he went into double-talk mode - "I'm the doctor, I'm much smarter than all of you, and know big words and how to use them.." Classic appeal to authority. I trust nobody else will give him a pass on that the next time.

Wooee, he really went out on a limb there, too! Expend zero political capital there, except, laws don't mean squat if all they do is reside on a page on a dusty shelf. He deflected the question yet again right there. It's a standard rhetorical device - answer the question, without really answering the question. It's subtle, and a lot of people don't even catch it.
