REVS. VOW SUIT OVER MILK HS
Amid praise yesterday from the City Council for the nation's first gay high school, a group of Hispanic ministers threatened to sue over it, calling the campus a new kind of "segregation."
City Council Speaker Gifford Miller yesterday commended the city Department of Education for planning to open the school next month with 100 students, which was first reported in The Post on Monday.
"Every child in New York City has the right to be educated in an environment that is safe and supportive," Miller said. "That right has been denied to far too many kids who face anti-gay harassment and abuse."
The Harvey Milk HS, at 2 Astor Place, will open for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students.
It was established to prevent physical and mental abuse that many of the gay students experience in the regular school setting.
Bronx minister and state Sen. Ruben Diaz yesterday questioned the need for the school and threatened legal action, as did state Conservative Party boss Mike Long.
"The issue is whether taxpayers' money should go toward segregated schools and promoting the gay lifestyle," Long said.
Diaz said that instead of separating homosexual students, schools should teach tolerance.
"They should teach them to love each other and not be segregated," Diaz said.
"People with special needs handicapped, blind or [those] with other physical handicaps need special schools," Diaz said. "Normal people should compete in the same schools."
Diaz was one of a dozen or so Hispanic clergy members who opposed the school and are analyzing whether it's legal.
If they believe the school is unconstitutional, the ministers will file suit to block the September opening.

It was established to prevent physical and mental abuse that many of the gay students experience in the regular school setting. Let's see. Fat kids get physical and mental abuse, so they'll need their own high school (Michael Moore HS?). And skinny, nerdy kids get the snot kicked out of them, so they need their own place (Michael Kinsley HS?). Don't forget ugly girls, they get LOTS of mental abuse, so let's get them their own school (Sarah Jessica Parker HS). Burnouts (dopers) also get abused, so they need their own place (Sean Penn HS).
Any others?

It is segregation, separate but equal, and should be entirely illegal.
Can you imagine the outcry if a school was opened for white, straight males? It boggles my mind to imagine what would be said.
If this nonsense keeps up white, straight, males will be an endangered species.

All children "experience physical and mental abuse in the school setting." That's what the school setting is for! The whole system should be shut down. Give everyone those billions of dollars BACK!

Has Harvey Milk School been in the news before?
Reason I ask...Last night's left-wing propaganda episode of Law & Order SVU was a repeat from earlier in the season. It centered around a transgendered he/she that killed one person (who he/she viewed as a "threat"), and caused "it's" boyfriend to commit suicide.
The "meat" of the episode centered around the bias, pain, suffering, violence, and ill-treatment that the queers and transgendered face (aparently on a daily basis!).
The cop chick with the short hair asked why the he/she didn't transfer to Harvey Milk School to avoid the harrassment.
Since this episode aired earlier this season, I'm wondering if HMS was even open then? Or, in their infinite support for all causes Left-Wing, did the producers of L&O shoot a new scene that mentions the HMS, in order to tie the show in with events of this week, and further their cause?
Every week, the L&O shows get more and more biased. It used to be subtle...now it's blatantly obvious.

as Harvey Milk School been in the news before? I think one of these articles mentioned that HMS was a section of another school previously (for a couple of years?), and this year is a totally separate facility, and much bigger.

Just remember that they DO NOT want special rights.
Say it over and over and over; maybe we'll believe it.
