Ordinarily, I'd agree with you since so many of those subject lines are giveaways that they're viruses. Except, in this case, the subject line specifically refers to "your email". In my case, i've been involved in the last week with changing both my personal email and my website email addresses (numerous emails going back and forth on the subject)...and the legitimate subject lines have always referred to my email address. Knowing that this was going on, my husband tipped me off not to open any more emails with that subj line till my dats were updated (just finished, thank you very much). So, anyone who's changing email addresses could be snookered by this new worm.

Easy solution to all such problems: don't run windows on computers linked to the net; run LINUX. The windows worms and viruses and what not just bounce off.

My Fortune 500 company shut us all out of ALL e-mail systems for the foreseeable future -- and is threatening to continue it permanently. How ridiculous is this? We use Outlook for company business purposes, just switching to it from another program that was BETTER, if you ask me. Outlook is how many of our people received and opened the virus-laden e-mails today. Supposedly other companies are angry with us for sending them the virus. Well, duh....it's ALL OVER THE FREAKIN COUNTRY, if not the world.

Talk about IT geniuses (not!).... So...everyone will use Outlook for personal mail now and something worse will happen. If I can't get my e-mail mail while at work, I'm outta here, too... This job ain't that great!

What should a novice user do? Running a inexpensive $9.95 isp and win2kp is there anything we should specifically be on the lookout for?
Can it attack OE? Our OE program shut down and will not allow any mail in/out.
Just wondering if it as a local isp thingy or something more ominous?
My pc has trendaway virus zap (I think)loaded but it is old, very old from year 2000 and has no updates.
I have just had my Nephew reinstall w2k from a crash last week...........
Any special bugaboos We need be aware of?
Aside from not opening any attachments?

Consider your pc toast if you have an outdated virus scan.

The best thing you can do is pay for a virus scan like Norton or Mc Affee that will automatically update your virus scan.

These viruses are written daily and you have to be prepared. - Tom
