Mr. Dean wants the full monty. In the name of his Vermont "fiscal conservatism," the Democrats' new Presidential front-runner proposes to repeal all three of the Bush tax cuts, right down to the last penny for every taxpayer.

Oh please G-d, please, please let Dean win the nomination!!!

Thanks for the ping, CJ.

I will NOT allow myself to even THINK the "L" word (landslide).....because I think complacency and in-fighting could lose whatever momentum we have achieved to date.

But IF the election is run on the type of values and priorities we all saw, post 9/11.....then the GOP could be in good shape. God knows, the Democrats can't even STAND the type of 'goodness' and 'unity' experienced in the wake of the terrorist attack on our shores. Now...if we can just get people out to vote!

Myself......I do think it is healthy to have two parties in this country. I just want the OTHER party to suffer the most humiliating, devastating defeat in history. And I want to see the looks of utter despair and incredulousness( is that a word?) on the faces of Bill and Hillary Clinton, Terry McCaulife and Tom Daschle. And I want Carville, Begala, and Julian Epstein to form a pact...and commit suicide.

Hindsight is always 20/20.

Don't forget, at least 43% of the voting public will vote for the democRAT no matter what he says or does.

History always repeats itself ... until it doesn't. There are all sorts of scenarios under which the RATS could end up pulling way less than 43%, and as of now, it's looking increasingly likely that 2004 is going to be one of those scenarios.

Since when? In my lifetime (I'm 32), I've never noticed that the dims care about anyone but the special interests and welfare recipients.

Well, of COURSE Kerry is lying. He's just trying to siphon off some support from the (comparatively) moderate RATS, since the hardcore, angry, Bush-hating leftists are all Deanbots.

>This reminded me of a little trick I used to play on my liberal (no longer) friends. I'd purposely talk up a Clinton proposal or idea and attribute it to Newt or the GOP and sit and watch them attack the idea. Or I'd take a GOP idea and say it was Clinton's and watch them praise >it.

Good post. That's a good test to determine whether someone is an independent thinker or lemming.

I just hope this Penn guy did not put this poll out there to snooker our side. Remember folk, he was Clinton's pollster.

Yeah, but every other poll out there over the last couple of years has said pretty much the same thing. The RATS stand for nothing but fear, uncertainty, and hate. Their only platform is "Bush is Hitler" and "We're against all Republican ideas." As a result, everyone but the angry, bitter, hardcore socialist left is abandoning them in droves.

Besides, the DLC is no friend of the hard-left wing of the Democratic Party. They don't want to see someone like Dean win any more than we do, because they know his policies, if implemented, will make the RATS unelectable for an entire generation starting in 2008. The DLC realizes that a center-left RAT Party is the only true alternative to the GOP that the American public is potentially willing to support in numbers that will get them back into power. If a far left presidential candidate does somehow manage to win, it'll only happen ONCE, and the RATS will pay the price for decades afterwards.

I've often said that the Democrat party ceased to be a party of representing the average guy a long time ago--

--rather, it has become a gaggle of warring self-interests who join together to use the might & majesty of the government to plunder everybody else.

Special Interest=Money

Welfare Recipients=votes

Money+Votes=Power

I would agree with your observations.
