"Wasn't Ms. Abramson involved with getting the private background info on Linda Tripp...from the Pentagon...and then leaking it to the press...from Ken the bowtie guy?????" How do you think she earned her stripes?

Have you ever heard her speak? She makes whiney Joe Lieberman sound like Tweety Bird on speed.

So now the NY Times is hiring a former National Enquirer writer to be their official ombudsman of reader complaints?!
BWAA HA HA!
The only thing that counts as credentials to the Left are how many times and how many ways have you attacked the Right and defended socialists (loved her Enquirer article suggesting a political damage control strategy for Hillary Clinton versus Genifer Flowers)...

Sounds like they're shuffling the deck chairs here, too.

As far as we know, Abramson WAS NOT involved in the Tripp incident. Jane Mayer Hamilton wrote a hitpiece on Linda Tripp for the
New Yorker (and the Clinton White House).
Her husband, William Hamilton, was and is a senior editor at the Washington Post, and was probably one of the connections at the Post for the Clinton White House.

My mistake. Got the two confused.
Thanks for the correction.

Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel:
The New York Times is passionately committed to promoting liberalism. As Rush said on today's program, excellence is not among their objectives.

Granted my memory is not what it used to be re: all things Tripp, but I swear that someone in the media got the background FBI info re: Tripp from Ken Bowtie.
I thought it was Abramson. Totenberg? Mayer Hamilton?
I'm pretty sure some "journalist" took the info from Ken Bowtie and brought it to the media's attention.

Kenneth "The Bowtie" Bacon:
"Mr. Bacon once worked at the Wall Street Journal with Jane Mayer, who asked to be identified by her married name, Hamilton."
The leaking of Tripp's file by the Pentagon's Bacon to the New Yorker's Mayer/Hamilton is a slam dunk violation of the Privacy Act, and Bacon and Mayer/Hamilton should be sharing a prison cell somewhere. There they can review their "sources and methods".
In the recent past, Mayer/Hamilton has been involved in gratuitous smears of Judge Starr and of Bush White House legal counsel staff. Regarding the latter, Mayer/Hamilton's publisher was forced to publish a retraction, an apology, and make material changes to Mayer/Hamilton's publication...
To: an amused spectator
Thank you, thank you!
Kudoes to you for bringing the facts of the past to the present for all of us to remember!

Your memory is quite correct. Abramson is also best buds with Hillary! and her sleazy spouse. Abramson will make sure that nothing embarrassing or remotely controversial will thwart her heroine Hillary's efforts to occupy the White House again.
I suspect that Abramson was the one who made sure that Juanita Broaddrick's story was relegated to page A-16 of the NYT's and the rape angle was marginalized by focusing on "how the accusation made it to the mainstream" via the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.
Looks like The New York Times will continue to be a LYING, LEFTIST rag with an OBVIOUS AGENDA. Thank goodness even people on the left are realizing that it is not a credible news source. (As if it ever was!) Until the Clinton's came along, I never realized how biased the NYT's really was...and still is. Zip credibility.

Ooops. Yeah, the info probably came through Meyer via Bacon. However, the New York Slimes ran with that "Tripp was a thief" story like the rest of the Clinton-loving pack.
What a hypocrite Abramson is. She slimed Thomas for alleged sexual harassment of one woman, (citing such "hard" evidence as references to a pubic hair on a coke can comment) but studiously ignored the numerous complaints and charges of sexual harassment, sexual assault of campaign workers, subordinates, known favors in exchange for sex, ad naseum from her best bud Hillary's disgusting spouse Bill Clinton!
As for the stories of witness intimidation, threats, bribes, treason and verified ties to coke dealers, China and other foreign agents detrimental to the national security of the USA, the NYT's reporting on the Clintons and their scandal-ridden Administration was, uh, somewhat lacking...

"Abramson is also best buds with Hillary!
Hmmm, that statement conjures up images which might excite Janet Reno or Rosie whats her face, but which revolt the rest of us. Had no idea Abramson was such a skank!!!!! Looks as rancid as Eleanor Clit. And we must never forget the attempted lynch job she and the equally noxious skank Jane Mayer did on Justice Thomas. BTW, does anyone have the figures on the NY Slimes' paid subscription figures over the last five years or so? I seem to recall a few years back that they had been losing subscribers at the rate of 10% per year. And now that the top 4 or 5 deck chairs have been rearranged, it appears that no one of any stature whatsoever wants to have their name on the Slimes masthead. What a cast of paid losers.

On Jill Abramson:
"She is co-author of "Strange Justice," published by Houghton Mifflin in 1994, and "Where They Are Now," published by Doubleday in 1986. "Strange Justice" was a non-fiction finalist for the National Book Award and National Book Critics Circle Award in 1994."
Reason enough never to read the NYT again!!!
(not that I make a habit of it)
