'THEY are not elected," noted Amr Moussa, secretary-general of the Arab League. "They are not representative," said Syria's Foreign Minister Farouq Shiraa.

"They lack democratic legitimacy," snapped the Libyan "Supreme Guide" Moammar Khadafy. The Sudanese military junta's verdict: "We shall have to wait and see if they are accepted by the people."

This was posted last night. That being said, the Arab despots and tyrants have very much to fear what a democratic Iraq could mean for them.

It is excellent. This whole thing is a stern warning to those Arab leaders who were "never elected." (It's also a message to the "not representative" Iranian muleheads.)

The irony is just dripping off these quotes. When was the last free election in either of these three countries???

I disagree. We took over Iraq the same way these detractors took over their respective countries. Works for me.

Its rich to hear dictators express concern about "democratic legitimacy." They don't even bother to have competitive and open elections in the own countries.

The Arab world is being forced to deal with the fact that there is a new form of government in their backyard. The dialogue is already being created over human rights that not even the biased state-run newspapers can cover up.
