HBO Plans Bush-Bashing Movie
Director Sidney Lumet is shooting a movie for HBO called "Strip Search that will look into supposed abuses of civil rights since 9/11.
"Its inspired by real-life incidents, examples of a sort of McCarthyism that has existed since the attacks, MSNBC quotes an "insider" as saying.
"Its about people whove been punished for saying and thinking things in a country where theres supposed to be freedom of speech and thought. Theres no doubt that it will be controversial, given the level of emotions on this subject.
Really? The primary places that Americans are punished for speaking and thinking are the leftist-dominated universities and failed government school monopolies and leftist-dominated Hollywood. Is that what the movie is about?
Apparently not. Lumet is a noted "liberal," and his stars include leftist actresses Glenn Close and Maggie Gyllenhaal, so count on yet another Bush-bashing fantasy from Tinseltown's ignorami.

Not too mention their use of the term McCarthyism. So it's kind of like Pres Bush finding out there are alqueda spies in the demoractic party and trying to out them? Maybe it's a good movie!
We need to get Coulter on the case

Media - (Fox + conservative talk radio) = anti-American Leftists
This will just be another anti-American propaganda piece. It should not be made.

Why isn't this and all entertainment, West Wing and so forth considered campaign material and contribution to the left? After all, they are crucifying Pryor because of his point of view. Isn't the ability to reach mega-millions of viewers a political statement with a specific point of view?
They should have included this in campaign finance.

...and I'm not so sure about Fox News Channel any more. I've been really disappointed in their coverage of post-war Iraq. I've seen no difference in their coverage than CNN's.

Lumet hasn't had a great movie since "Dog Day Afternoon" 30 years ago. This is like John Frankenheimer closing out his fading career with a dreadful Attica-related movie on HBO. For all its money and ratings prowess, HBO simply cannot put out a decent homegrown movie on its network.

"Its about people whove been punished for saying and thinking things in a country where theres supposed to be freedom of speech and thought. Really? Then why aren't you in prison for just making this movie? And will you be featuring the woman who got arrested for telling Clinton that he sucked? Will you be featuring the editors of the conservative publication, the Cornell Review, who had their copies stolen and burned by campus lefties? Didnt think so.
Theres no doubt that it will be controversial, given the level of emotions on this subject.
Yes. Hypocrisy, omissions of fact, and outright lies can do that to a project.

Its about people whove been punished for saying and thinking things in a country where theres supposed to be freedom of speech and thought. No doubt it will include the horrible travails of The Dixie Chicks, who now show footage during their concerts that equates their suffering to the suffering of those targeted by the Nazis in 1930s Germany.

Nothing new here. It just keeps coming. My wife and I watch the Life of David Gale. It featured a character that was the Governor of Texas. He was a caricature of everything the left thinks of Bush. At one point they say he is, "in-touch with his inner frat boy". The Gov is played as an absolute buffoon bent on killing as many people as possible.
